for every one who tested or attempted Partial hanging, why did not work?
or if it did work how was it?

edit: i will share my experience aswell
so i have been trying for the last 5-6 month my best position is standing, rope on the adam apple, knote behind the neck, slip knote.
the problem for me is i dont pass out, i get really dizzy, warm ears, not beeing able to breath and body spasms that i cant stop which is very scary. and i will get very confused like i am half conscious.

the only time it worked i hyperventilated befor partial and held my breath and passed out from hyperventilation, but the rope broke. and it was as peacfull as it can get, but it never worked again.

Well for me personally, the pressure when I put the noose around my neck is so overwhelming, it feels like my head is going to pop off. I have never overcomed my survival instinct.I actually feel very confident that the day I do, overcome it and let it all hang out I will succeed.

it's either youre not putting enough pressure or your on the wrong spot.

As far as how it felt: My setup was a rope anchored to a beam and I was on my knees (hee). I would lean forward to get tension. I tested leaning forward and if I felt the "head pressure" sensation, I would straighten up and readjust the rope. I kept doing this until I found the right spot and then I just relaxed into the rope and let my weight do the job.

I failed because I kept "jumping awake" like you do when you are about to fall asleep and you suddenly startled yourself. I am guessing it was the deepest parts of my SI kicking in as I was already unconscious when it happened. It happened a few attempts in a row and I got so pissed off I gave up for the day.

Yeah, I'm just checking out the information here to make sure that I get it right. Also, there are other options like SN,I'm looking into those as well.

I could still breathe. I do not know how long it took me to pass out, but if it could not have been longer than probably 30 seconds?

When I tried partial hanging I also over dosed of my anti depressant tablets I stocked piled (venlafaxine) I believe I took my tablets then tied the rope around a tree branch before putting my head through the noose and tightened it slightly. I think the reaction I had to my over dose caused me to become confused so ended up failing. I can remember starting to pass out and feeling the pain around my neck but the next thing I remember after that is waking up at home. Apparently I was hurlucinating and acting strange for most of the day.

I've tried partial a few times but the furthest I've reached is cutting off most (but not all) of my oxygen, still being able to breath in and out with a very numb face and somewhat numb extremities.

I can't find the correct spot, I'm still able to breathe and can't pass out. Being totally aware while it's happening is hellish and I rather not do it like that, feels undignified.

"it feels like my head is going to pop off" => there is likely enough pressure to stop the blood from leaving the head (veins) but not enough to stop the blood from entering the head (arteries). This risks damaging your head and is relatively unlikely to be lethal.

Actually, maybe I mischaracterized it. When you say "it feels like my head is going to pop off", I thought you meant the blood pressure inside your head, but perhaps you only meant the pressure from the rope on your neck. Sorry if I caused confusion.

No, I meant the pressure inside my head, not the rope at all.

My head was exploding, and I felt like a flounder, or so I imagined. I couldn't lose consciousness, and it was very painful, leaving visible marks on my neck.🐟😰😭

I'm putting the rope just under the chin above the Adam's apple, when I put pressure on I feel like I'm gonna pass out then as I'm just about going out my SI kicks in and I automatically abort by standing up. Very frustrating. I'm just thinking I need to get on a stool and step off but that's taking guts I don't seem to have . It's really hard for me to die this way. I want to die so bad but can't seem to muster the courage to do it properly.

I'm the same. I can't take that extra step. I'm terrified that my setup is not good enough. I can only do it by sitting. Sliding down the wall. Anchor at the back by hook on door. It's all I can manage. I tried kneeling but can't get it to work!
I really want to just die in my bed.
But if I could do FSH I probably would…

I couldn't find the spot to cut off the bloodflow and chickened out.
I could still breathe but I could feel the head pressure being high and uncomfortable.
Slipknot behind the neck, rope at the base of the neck, kneeling position. Thin rope. (Paracord.)

First I have to ask how can someone answer if it did work? No multiple times. First I didn't have it properly anchored & the other times si kicked in, recently just painful to a sun burnt neck.

About 10 years ago, I attempted a partial hanging. I'm not in an English-speaking country, so please bear with me using GPT to translate this.

I was living with my family at the time, and I tried by hanging my dad's tie on the door handle of our closet. I think I was in a kind of suspended sitting position. My memories from that time are blurry, as if they've completely vanished, so I can't recall much clearly, but I believe I had taken a lot of Artivan while I had the tie around my neck. When I woke up, I was in the hospital—probably because my parents had found me. I still wonder how I managed to stay alive. Was my position just wrong? I remember that during the attempt, my vision went completely dark.

After that incident, all the door handles in the house were gone, and I was almost sent to a psychiatric hospital. Even after 10 years, I still feel strongly suicidal. Crazy.

sorry, English isnt my first language, but by (if it did work), i meant if someone passed out and then got rescued or like in my case the rope broke.
