Who can I turn to when nobody will help?

From all your posts that I've read, I'm assuming that you're looking to meet people and make friends. People who understand you and you can connect with.

Have you thought about contacting this organisation? It says on their website that if you contact them they will direct you towards a service that will be able to help.

For example, where I live, there is an organisation for high-functioning autistic adults which provides specific support and also organises in-person social events - things like cycling, walking, quizzes etc. There's probably something similar where you live.

Another place to look is Meetup. There are specific events for people with autism in every area (although a lot are going online now because of the virus situation). But when things calm down, Meetup is a good place to find people with similar interests.

If you're alone for Christmas, then maybe you could look and see if anywhere needs volunteers? It's horrible being on your own when it feels like everybody else is getting together. Although Christmas might be cancelled for everyone at this rate.

I'm so sorry on your behalf, but I'll give you my most honest answer, although I don't know the exact problem (depression, money, drugs, a place to stay).

No one can help you except you. If you're desperate, scream, cry, shout. Do it in public. Force people to care/ take action.

I don't know. I was just having this exact conversation with my husband. Nobody will help me. I've tried everything. I can't go on feeling this way. The NHS sucks when it comes to mental health stuff. I'm so sorry you're going through this.

Most peoples', including friends, family, acquaintances, professionals and members of various help groups and charities help does not extend beyond the immediate crisis and for a limited, usually short, period right after it. After that - one is left to one's own devices. Until the next crisis. And each time the patience, and the time becomes a little bit shorter.

Unfortunately, it is very rare to have unlimited access to both necessary ingredients for a long-term (often life-long) help - finances and genuinely loving and caring family/partners. In my experience the second 'ingredient' is even more important - high quality and accordingly expensive professional help can only do so much. The most important thing is who one comes home to.

I understand from their point of view as well. They have their own problems to deal with. There is only so much you can do for others. I think that is why people should not be upset over suicide. It was their choice after all. You can't guilt people into living a hollow existence.

That is why communities like SS need to exist. It is the only place I've found that I could have honest discussions without being gaslighted or being told that I am ungrateful and selfish for wanting to die.

Yeah it's mostly help with getting out meeting people I'm looking for. In particular, I'm looking for a support worker for, among other things, help with getting out meeting people. There's 6 support worker companies that I've e-mailed 4 times each and got no reply from and I'm too shy to phone them. The police won't phone them for me, they haven't explained properly why; I think they just don't think it's part of their job even though they've told me that their job includes keeping me safe, and I'm obviously not safe from unbearable loneliness.

The police told me a doctor can refer me to a support worker, but they say they can't. The local council's web-site seems to say they can too. Even if it isn't part of their job, why don't the police or doctors etc phone them anyway, just to help me? They're hardly going to get sacked for it. And the NHS aren't doing anything else to help me make friends either.

And social services here are horrendous! The last social worker I had said she'd do things for me, and then when I asked her why she hadn't done whatever it was for me she'd tell me it wasn't part of her job! She never did anything to help me! And eventually she confirmed that social services weren't interested in helping me me by closing my case. As for the support worker, they assessed me as needing 8 hours of support per week back in 2004, and I've still never received the support! When I've asked why, they just fob me off with pathetic excuses!
