Me too , but I still think permissive parenting is better than the other 3 variants.

I agree with you. I could have tried harder. Depression complicates everything. I just want to lie in my bed. I am glad that my family understands me better these days.

I forgot to mention that caregivers could be a little bit of each parenting style. The difference is that some are more dominant than others.

My father was authoritarian. Same with my mother. I was taken care of by babysitter and my grandparents because parents were at work most of the time. I had some good times with my parents like watching movies etc. But than there were bad times when they were really invasive and very demanding. I felt I was always lacking something. Love was really conditional and seamed one sided. The punishment was cold disapproval and shouting and scorning. I had to behave at school and outside of It. I was even asked frequently If I had friends and If I found a hobby that is not gaming XD

They controlled how I spend my time and didn't respect my boundaries when I was young. They were fucked up. Like covertly narcissistic, egotistical, very materialistic. The jokes they made, "It is ok you cannot spell It, we will make another son who will be able to" and my father had 3 more children after that. Probably because deep in his instinct he sensed that he had only one offspring that won't make the cut.

negligent i should have called the police when i was 12/13/14 when the law could somehow protect me i never felt like a kid with any right to ask for help, my innocence was destroyed too soon watching porn, gore..
