Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

I see videos of elderly people drink it and act normal until they pass out. But then I see people on here that say they freak out and can't do it, so they end up having to get rid of it.

What do you mean by being able to or not being able to? Physically able or mentally able?
Old people do it so easily because they're usually facing severe illness and they have no quality of life and they're near death anyway so of course there's much less hesitation.
Many people on here, I would say most, are not in that situation and they are on the younger side so SI kicks in a lot harder. But the question is still hard to answer.

I'd like to add (not in response to your question) that I also see people on here being able to do it too (goodbye threads where they post updates until they pass away)

I think you have to be in an extremely desperate place to go through with it. What that looks like is different for each person. We all have our limits of tolerance to suffering. If a person has hit that limit I think it is much easier for them to go through with any method, not just N.

I'm just wondering if people backing out is the rule, or the exception to the rule. If backing out is a common "phenomenon" then I'll prepare myself for a second attempt.

I do not think that there is any way to know this. We have no idea as to what is going through peoples minds when they are planning to ctb as we are not living their lives. I do believe that I would be able to go through with it if I had N, it would comfort me if I had a peaceful way to exit, I am tired of living and I just want to be gone. It is common to back out of attempts, and people do this for a variety of reasons.

Maybe a combo of methods? Choking down N, then quicky securing a plastic bag with a face mask over nose and mouth so the plastic doesn't block passageways, and an ice pack inside to counter the heat build-up? If we pass out, then the carbon dioxide build-up--hopefuly wouldn't trigger survival instinct to kick in--or would it? Damn. I always wanted to go via helium ot Nitrous, but could never figure out regulators, flows, valves, all that. I just a ready-to-use handy dandy stupid-proof gizmo. That's what I want Santa. That and a very peaceful pill (a bottle of them). Amen.
