What's your favorite series?

Black Mirror! Season 7 is here in a few days :)

If you're into sci-fi I recommend this show. There's no continuous plot – there's a new story in every episode so they can be watched in any order. Some good episodes I watch over and over again are:

"Nosedive" – people are rated in a social media app based on how well they fit in the norm, this has long-lasting effects on their IRL lives
"Shut Up and Dance" – a teenage boy gets caught doing something embarrassing (you can guess what) and his life becomes a nightmare
"White Bear" – a woman wakes up with no memories in a world where everyone tries to kill her

This is on Netflix but can probably be found on piracy sites too.

A few contenders. Star Trek TNG and Star Trek DS9 are up there. I finished Breaking Bad recently and really liked that too. I think Lost would be number 1 however!

tng and ds9 are the only ones which are not an insult to intelligent people.

all other star trek stuff is just popcorn. voyager has its moments but is also already more on the brainless entertainment side.
and jj abrams put the final nail to the coffin.

for me as tv series junkie - the wire still sits on the throne.
side note for all who are not familiar with it. you have to be patient. it unfolds very slowly and you might feel the tendency to quit after a few episodes. but maybe this is less of an issue than 10 years ago cause slow storytelling got more common.

this description is a mix of something i read somewhere and own thoughts which describes pretty well the amplitude of these three tv shows imo:
- breaking bad is a psychogram of a person.
- sopranos is a psychogram of a group.
- the wire is a psychogram of a city.

I totally agree! Outside of that The Wire, Breaking Bad and Fargo stands out.

Bojack for the most depressing show

American Dad for mindless tv

Degrassi for a "damn I wish this was my life" dissociated tv

Anything Disney throwback as a "damn I wish this was me again"

Oh and old Adult swim shows like Moral Orel, Mission Hills, Dr.Kratz, Duckman etc...
