What's the point in a VPN for this site?

I've seen some people talk about VPNs for this site, and I just ask, what is the point?

I don't care if my ISP sees me accessing this site.

I use a free vpn because either my entire country or my ISP has blocked me from accessing this site and a vpn is the only way to circumvent that for me

Okay see, that makes sense to me on why someone would use a VPN.

There are countries who blocked this site. That is why people use VPN to access it. Fortunately, I doubt my country even knows about this site let alone block it.

So a few reasons to use a some kind of anonymizing method:

• The site may be blocked for some people
• "Hacks" happen, so even if you don't care if your ISP sees you, someone else might use that information
  • Especially consider some of the nutjobs who would dox people
• You can't be certain LE won't ever have an interest in this site or people trying to acquire/provide materials
  • Sites can be seized and at that point who knows where the information will end up
• The internet is forever, better to be safe
