A friend of mine is deeply concerned with the Israeli war against Palestine. He went to many protests. My two closest friends want to go to a protest this week and they want me to join them. I think I will go with them. In Germany you can easily smeared as antisemite for protesting for Gaza though. I think I won't agree with all protesters (my friend admitted sometimes there are slightly antisemitic speeches.) Tbh I am in my mid/end twenties and I never protested for anything. I am selfish freerider. I can still opt-out. But I really like to spend time with them.

Just be sure that the government doesn't put you on some list. This might make it harder for you to even buy SN or CTB in the future. Just saying. If you're going just for their sake, you may want to rethink that. If you actually want to show support, then that's a different story.

It's really important to get numbers at the Palestine demos, especially in Germany where the crack down on pro Palestinian artists and activists has been so intense. I haven't been able to go to one for a while because I've been so unwell but I went to a lot in London. If you're able to go, I think it would be good - it does help remind you of the things that are bigger than us and world leaders need to know that people aren't going to stop talking about this. Take care.

People can say whatever they want about you withour the need for any factual basis. Also it's not like they can single you out of a large crowd with thousands of other protestors. It's not like your face is going to be on the news the next day with the subtext "is noname223 an antisemite for attending a pro-palestine rally?"

To answer the question in the title, I have never attended a protest in my entire life (at least not that I can recall) and I honestly couldn't imagine myself ever attending one. It's just not my kind of setting; although there are issues that I am deeply passionate about.

I never protested for anything either. Anti-war protesters in Israel are smeared as extreme and often get arrested.

Not in terms of waving placards about but, I've wtitten to MP's, done sponsored walks and swims for animal charities. I've donated to one charity regularly for over 30 years now. Not that it's probably managed to save anything but, maybe it would be even worse without them.

Absolutely one of the best pictures that you have ever put on SaSu.

You are just so outstanding in your humor and the ability in helping others not only to have a laugh but brighten their day also.

Thank you so much,

Walter

I think protests are stupid. Sorry to be so blunt. The issues are always largely manufactured and designed to hype people up. No offense to anyone who sincerely thinks they're helping anything or making a difference. Be careful and don't get hurt.

I cannot drive and I don't have any friends so I just boycott things intentionally and unintentionally instead of protesting

I've went to a few rallies against Trump recently. I don't want a political debate, but I do not like Trumpet or Biden. Trump just seems to do the dumbest shit to me. I've also went to pro-abortion rallies. We don't have many of those any more, but God forbid I have sex and accidentally bring a child into this cycle of suffering. If I can't wash my own ass, don't expect me to be able to adequately love or care for another living being for 18 years.

I'd go at this point (mask on) if there were anything specifically about Palestine, but it's all Trump shit as though the prior presidents were much better and this one is newly horrible. Unless something worthy comes up, I only really intend to do a protest vote for neither party next year.

Free Palestine. The protest was good better than expected and I had a lot of fun with my friends. I am not in the press thankfully.

My therapist sort of criticized me for attending that Palestine demonstration. She asked me really weird questions about Germany's history and which lessons we should learn from that. I think the demonstration was mostly pretty normal.

There were two questionable things I observed. Once they shouted from the river to see in Arabic. Which is considered a crime in Germany (yes, it is lol). And a woman wore an octopus shirt.

There was a racist group in my city, so I joined in the counterprotest.
Protesting is the bare minimum in my opinion, so if I'm not even willing to do that, then how can I look myself in the mirror and say that I stand for my beliefs.
