For me it's a picture of Elliot Rodger's father Peter Rodger in an interview about his son's killing spree.

Mine is from American Psycho when the protagonist thinks he is about to be Identified as a murderer. I didnt't know the context when i saw the picture. I just liked how sad he looked.

For those who don't know him, he was a philosopher. That said, for me he represents the coherence of "ideas and actions," and in this case, he fulfilled that perfectly. For me, he could very well be a sacred figure, embodying what aspiring to die represents, as I want to culminate it in the act itself.
I could mention Christ, but that would sound like religious fanaticism. I could also mention Yukio Mishima, the Japanese writer whose work anyone who has read will recognize as a literary Mainländer, much like Osamu Dazai... But Mainländer is less well-known.

100% he was an extremely neglectful father who is one of the big reasons Elliot snapped.

I cut down the frames of the GIF to fit my current experience. Hurt, on the edge of recovery, but still with something hanging over my shoulder.

My banner is the "fear" background that borders the screen whenever Sunny encounters Something in game. Wish it had a GIF, honestly.

Have you watched Mumkey Jones' videos on Elliot Rodger? I watched them when they came out and they were very illuminating, although his channel got taken down several years ago. You can find reuploads of them on YouTube, though.
