I am wondering about this too… I read about the death taking more than 24h, then 48h…

I'm pretty interested about that "period"

Just depends on your luck. N is pretty neuroprotective and in the medical literature many people who have had "failed" attempts (aka being found) have been cited to have a "full neurological recovery" even with CPR. No guarantees though.

I think the fear of brain damage or whatever is overblown. Like @forevernonescaped said, N is neuro protective. All the literature of people getting saved and surviving even after a week long or two week long coma have made full recoveries.
