I don't wanna hang myself because suffocating to death is my biggest fear, and I don't have any access to a gun except for the 100-year-old rusty Smith & Wesson revolver with no bullets from the Russo-Turkish War. So I plan on slitting my wrists, but I have 4 questions.

1. Does it hurt? I really want to know this because when I sh'ed and got stitches, it didn't hurt one bit. Maybe it's because I didn't go deep enough?
2. What kills you? blood loss or severing the veins?
3. When exactly do I lose consciousness? In 2 minutes? 5? 10?
4. Horizontal or Vertical?

I think that radial artery cut is painful and you have to cut vertically, not horizontally.

Assuming blood loss is not stopped, hemorrhagic shock is what kills you.

You lose consciousness after about 1-1.5 liters of blood is lost, i.e. in about 2-3 minutes since you lose about 500 ml of blood a minute from arterial cuts.

As I said, always vertical cuts when intention is to die.

To hit anything substantial, you will need to go deep. It will hurt.
2. What kills you? blood loss or severing the veins?
"Severing veins" does not kill you. When you cut veins, blood comes out, so technically it is blood loss. However, cutting your wrists will not kill you. The amount of blood you can lose out of the tiny veins in your wrists is not substantial. You are far more likely yo be found or have the veins clot and atop bleeding out n their own.
3. When exactly do I lose consciousness? In 2 minutes? 5? 10?
This I do not know as I have never heard of anyone passing out from this method.
4. Horizontal or Vertical?
Slicing your veins lengthwise would leave them more open.

Again, though, this method rarely works. Only 1-4% of successful suicides are from cutting/stabbing. I would suggest you find something else.

I'm pretty sure this is a non method since it's easy for SI to take over and highly unlikely to work unless you cut really inanely deep to bleed out. With such a high likelihood of failure this also leaves you more likely to be debilitated (losing sense in some areas, maybe having to amputate depending on how you cut).
