There is of course religion, but I'm talking about philosophical views. Personally I believe in an absurdism way of life. I think that in the end there will be nothing so fuck life and do whatever. What are y'all's opinions?

The meaning of life is to experience suffering so that the soul can evolve. That's what I've been told.

It depends. There are universal, natural, biological, philosophical, religious, and individual viewpoints. Should we differentiate from meaning from purpose? How does anyone define a meaning? I can give answers for each of these viewpoints yet others still might conclude something else entirely. We give our own life its meaning. Though that does not mean this is the meaning of life. I think it's a question in futility.

Nothing. There can't be a point to this. Recently a video was going around of a young Christian women and her children in Syria, being rounded up. They were all hung. What's the meaning in that? Be born just to suffer? It makes no sense. I think of my problems as small in comparison, but so much of my life has been ruined because of some damn mental health issues I certainly never asked for. Why are people made such a way? Why are some capable of atrocities? Im not doing well at the moment so im lashing out some but there can be no meaning in life when some suffer so senselessly.

I also agree with the idea of absurdism. That there doesn't seem to be one universal meaning- beyond the biological drive to survive. I just think it makes it easier to live if we can find meaning in our lives. I see it more as a coping mechanism. What that reason/ meaning is varies person to person though.

I can understand why religious folk believe it's all a test. It certainly feels like a trial. But then- I've never understood what for. Admittance to heaven or freedom from being reincarnated? It just seems like an anticlimax. Imagine spending 5 years studing for various degrees to be told at the end- You've gained admittance into a theme park. Wouldn't it make more sense to be learning those skills for something?

Genuinely, when I think about how to answer this question, even though I can't really defend my answer, I think the true meaning of life is to discover free will. I don't think it's something we innately have, but it's something that comes and goes in flashes of lucidity and self-determination. It feels like an experiment to me. What if we took these consciousnesses and put them in these horrible bodies with horrible circumstances and horrible pre-existing repressive belief systems and gave them imperatives to fight for or against. How will they react? You only win when you go against literally everything you have ever been told, and that's near insurmountable. An immovable object for an unstoppable force to break the laws of nature and overcome by sheer force of will. The object wins when it creates laws and limitations, the force (us) wins when it destroys them.

I too never managed to understand how some people are capable of such atrocities too. That is just One more thing that proves that i indeed dont belong in this world. After i ctb I pray to God NOT to be reincarnated again. Not in this world again.

Nothing, existence is a mistake, it just causes so much pain and suffering all for the sake of it with no limit as to how much one can be tortured, only non-existence is positive for me, only non-existence can bring me peace from the abomination of this futile, torturous existence I never would had chosen, I just want to be free from all the suffering.

Gng I reccomend not falling down the nihilism rabbit hole. There's bad things that happen in life because there's bad people. There's nothing stopping us from being bad like them but we choose not to. Why? Well that's for you to figure out. We may not know what will happen tommorow but we can choose what to do today. Maybe by committing horrible acts you have already found part of your meaning; to be a good person.

Food. That everything now alive eventually becomes the food (nourishment) necessary to sustain future life.

There is no meaning, we a product of evolution. Evolution that will continue for decades, centuries, a thousand lifetimes after us all. No matter how we pass. We either become ash and decorate nature's floor, or become like said above, it's food. Cycle of life. I guess as humans, with such high emotional and intellectual capabilities, we drew the short straw. At least for some, for probably most of us here.

I think that human beings seek to give a divine meaning to that which they do not yet have an answer for. As if in agony from not knowing, they try to fill this empty space.

Meaning of life... I used to think I tried to find it, and I thought I had a personal answer to that question... It turns out however, answer I thought was only materialist extension mirrored to my thoughts, if I can say that way. I mean, if I have found the meaning of life, it should be true for all and universal right? Otherwise it would be wrong... While my conclusion here can not be certainly true, however that's what I think "making philosophy" isn't.

It turns out, what I were doing so far was chasing my obsessions mercilessly. Trying to be good for others, to be better version of myself, be a man who will fix his own country's problems, be a visionery that will solve global warming... Things like that, but for what?.. It is because, if a thing is broken, it must be fixed... It is... It is an obsession, it is how I see life could be a meaning because now I give myself a tangible value, so even though I don't feel I deserve to live, at least I have a tangible proof that I am worth of something.

I guess in the end, only meaning left is that, one should pursue their obsessions.

That is why I think philosophy and fundementals of psychologu must be compulsory lessons highschool and prior schools.

Nothing. I like to think that we are all accidents; the universe's way of despairing is through us. When you shout the question to the cosmos, you will always be met with silence, and other people will answer with their own. You can pick up any meaning, make what you want of it. I personally don't fuss about it, I live as if I died already, and I do not need any meaning, all of it is just decay.
