End to suffering, once you are dead you'd have no identity, no past, no regrets, no if's and buts, no lost love or memories of abuse, no memories of fun times and joys either but that's a fair price to pay to erase the bad days from memory.

Most importantly, when you are dead, you would have no identity, you wouldn't be male or female, young or old, pretty or ugly.. you'd be dead.. like all of em.

Death is the universal equalizer, it takes you no matter who you are and good luck bribing the harbringer of eternal peace. He doesn't a give a shit about your excuses, when death comes, it takes what it wants.

Depends what death "is". If it's ending then you can't answer the question because there is nothing, no existence, no good or bad so no aspect of it to have any feeling about and no "you" to feel. If it's a change to a different place/state etc then it depends on what that place/life/whatever is. It's an unanswerable question really.

Exactly. Either we won't exist so it won't matter, and if our consciousness continues to exist then we have no freaking clue what we're in for.

Eternal bliss? Eternal damnation? Some weird version of our world but slightly worse? The pain of our death permanently following us into the afterlife? No sort of pain ever again?

Nobody knows. There is no guarantee that death will be peaceful and full of bliss or an empty void of nothingness. We can only hope it will be better than this, but I often fear it may be worse.

Sometimes I think about dreams, where it's purely material made up by our subconscious. Yet we still feel pain, our minds think we are still bound by our physical bodies. Incredibly fucked up shit can happen in dreams, that's really really scary. The only escape is waking up.

I think the best part is, aside from shutting down this malfunctioning system, becoming one with the universe surrounding my body. I like to think about what would happen with my particles in far future. It's kinda sci-fi, but I like to think that part of them will be sent far away from this solar system by some civilization (maybe ours by chance?) or a disaster (asteroid). It's amazing to imagine how far can quantums scarce in this world, the ones than have been a part of someone's configuration. So my view is kinda down-to-earth.

Oh boy, all that and then some of what everyone has shared here!

Certainly the Freedom, the release from this aging earth suit, Free to wander the multiverses with just a thought with my Angel Baby kitties (after first staying here in spirit with my Shane through his transition), being able to tap into any energy, consciousness, or being any time (we are all One Being, All connected), being able to create any reality I choose with my imagination, Super Powers galore!!!! Yes!!!?!?!? :-D

And for anyone who asks, I Am Never Coming Back Here, Ever Again ! (not screaming here, just emphasis) I will work out my karma in Infinite Eternity if I have to, but I will Never Come Back Here Again! Eastern and other philosophies, I think, say that spirits all want to come here (to Earth) because this is the fastest way to work out their karma, but it seems to me, you accumulate far more than you could ever burn off here. So for me, it makes no sense to come back here just to get hurt over and over and over again in all the ways you can be hurt in life.

For me, it's what I'm going to, not what I'm leaving behind that drives me to "close my book" here when I choose to (soon). Suicide has always been an acceptable option to me regardless of what "society" says about it. It is not "selfish" or "evil" or anything like that. If one chooses to find Peace when/how they choose, they have that right and it should be understood and accepted. Maybe someday it will be, but probably not anytime soon, sadly. Not for us, right now, today, anyway.

In a way, I'm kinda glad I didn't ctb years ago as I've gained the knowledge, beliefs and tools I need to see me through this last bit. I've explored various spiritual beliefs and philosophies and have created my own from them. I have been deeply comforted by them when I needed it, and it's not that they're not serving me now to live a happier life, but they are serving me to let go as I need to. It's sort of sad, that I wasn't quite able to make life work for me the way it seems to for so many, but not really. I've always felt that a vital part of myself was missing here, something didn't quite make it into my psyche when I came into this world, a certain drive and motivation that would get me through the difficulties I faced throughout my life. It just eluded me, and now I'm left feeling bereft with no other options other than saying, "See ya later! I'm done here and I'm off for the ultimate Freedom!" YAHOOOOO!!! (now I'm shouting!) ;-)

And no God/dess, spirit guide or any other being can tell me what I can and can't do on the other side! I am a sovereign, Divine being in my own right and can choose as I please! There are no rules or regulations to follow, it really is All Good! Every little thing is good, every experience is in service to the Divine, that's why it's all good. That's all we're meant to do, experience things in our own unique ways, and views, and feelings. All the rest is human bs.
