Discussion What do you think about today's world, economic instability and possible war escalations?

Life in general sucks, as a pessimist (not by choice) I think we're heading into a world even worse than before.

What do you think?

My brain has shut itself down and spiraled into nihilism recently, especially since I'm in a traumatic environment right now and it's been repeatedly beating me down, daily.

Normally I'd probably come up with something better to say. But lately I've just been hoping that nuclear incineration doesn't hurt too much.

I'm also a pessimist. It does feel like we're all going to hell in a hand cart. Truthfully, the world sickens me. It even sickens me that I'm a part of some of the problem. On the one hand, I hate being a consummer and generating pollution and rubbish. On the other, I'm too lazy to live a less impactful life.

Some of the stuff going on though, I just think is so horrific. I hate it that humans are like this but then- I don't know the answer either. I'm so ill informed regarding politics- I'm not even sure what a good decision really looks like anymore.

I suppose I don't think violence is the answer. I just think it results in never ending retaliation back and forth. There again- it seems right to put up defence if you are attacked.

I wonder if we're just f*cked as a race though. We are so greedy and seem to revel in conflict. How are we to have a happy ending when we have those elements within us?

This world is getting increasingly more and more difficult place to live in. The world from my childhood (early 1990s) is gone. We currently live in the dystopian future that some people predicted it might happen way back in the 1980s and 1990.
Sadly its getting worse and worse and I don't want to take part in this world for much longer, and I'm sure many of you agree with me when I say that this world is a very cold, uncompassionate and cruel place.

Couldn't agree more. I feel like this world lose it's soul, even if we don't have the looming war and economic instability..

People are chasing status and money more than ever and forgot what's important, genuine human connections.

And I can't even blame those who had been hurt and can't live in this corrupt world any longer.

Also I forgot to mention this: Buildings, architecture, movies, music and the design of most things today become more and more soulless. It was like this even before the advent of Ai generated content. Now with Ai generating everything for us things are getting more bland and soulless. I just don't want to be part of such world. Things used to be so much colorful vibrant and uplifting back in the 1980s and 1990s. What happened? How did we let this happen

SERIOUSLY. I hate it. Hate hate hate hate!!! Everything is so boring and soulless and copy-paste.. Why.. I mean I know why, it's cheaper and less risky and more acceptable but sigh, that's not a world I want to live in.
