Discussion What Content do you consume that is objectively sad/depressing but at the same time comforting?

1. I highly recommend the Youtube channel "Soft White Underbelly" most of you probably heard of it. The Storys are sometimes so sad that you can only listen and try not no cry. But it makes my Situation feel more bearable and knowing there are people suffering like me out there is a nice feeling.

2. Theres a Producer named "Greaf" on Soundcloud. He produced beats for artist like Lil peep, Xxxtentacion, Bones, Rick Hil and much more. His beats feel dark and sad, but at the same time really beautiful. I Listen to his beats daily. Most of his Accounts are deleted but there are other channels that reuploaded his stuff. A good movie on this, I think it won an Academy Award it's called Life is Beautiful. It's an Italian film, I think it's the foreign actor to win an Academy Award. It's about a man and his son in World War 2 who get sent to a concentration camp and all throughout it the father because he cares about his son he turns it into this like whole happy, fun, game thing he presents the concentration camp is like a big amusement park. The only DVD that I own in life is Life is Beautiful just because to me the ability to do that, to take life because life throws all kinds of stuff at you it's the struggle of humans.

I often find myself looking at people's social media and all, seeing how the people that were once in my life get on. It's some thing I do as a form of self punishment.

My favorite genre of anything is "dark cop drama". Books, TV shows, and movies with a gritty atmosphere, a heavily flawed main character, horrible things happening to people, etc. Solving the crime is the secondary part of it for me, as I do not care for light-hearted police shows. I do not know, maybe I just like seeing characters who are as mentally screwed up as I am.
