I don't mean reasons to not die btw. I mean reasons to live, not just exist. Reasons to get out of bed every morning and try to experience everything life has to offer. The person I loved most, my wonderful girlfriend, killed herself last week. She was my reason to live. I'm looking for anything else worth living for before I decide to just give up and ctb. I understand the irony of posting this on a suicide forum but honestly I feel like this place is the most accepting and empathetic towards suicidal people. Thanks for reading and hope you have a good day <3.

And for what I mean in the first sentence here's my example:
- Reason not to die: my family would be sad.
- Reason to live: loving and cherishing my girlfriend.

For me, one reason to live is Ravi the cat. He is so nice, loyal and relaxed, coming up to me for pets and purring.

dressing myself up, like a doll. i enjoy fashion and putting together outfits that i think are cute and make me look nicer than usual. as a bonus, i like receiving compliments from people i walk by. i am told sometimes that people recognize me just because my outfits always stand out to them (in a good way), and that's one of the best compliments i could receive.

i also enjoy the idea of putting my art and music out into the world someday.

Idk what's youre exact definition is and I think it depends on perspective, you can look at things like smelling the air after it rains as both a reason to not die as well as a reason to live, whether you look at it as just a continuation of what is or its own thing, that's up to you. Feeling small snowflakes fall on your skin before melting. Recognizing a good emotion that you associate with a simpler, nostalgia-blinded time. Many live for such small things, sometimes I do too.

for me: people being happy about me drawing them fish

And I'm sorry for your loss. *hugs* I... know how it is to lose everything that makes you live but I don't know how it is to grieve somebody you love.

Aside from that, once for me it was experiencing reality - smell, taste, textures, people around me... that was the best time of my live (and very fucking bad at the same time)

Hope you will recover and be happy...

kitty cats and ducks. and other cute creatures. chilkawa and hachiware are 2 reasons i'm alive, because they make me happy. i can't make people my reason, even if people do care about me. i'm scared of dealing with even more loss. chiikawa comics will always be there, even when i have no one i can talk to or trust.

i like going outside and looking at nature and water. one day i want to have enough money and independence to go down to florida again and visit all the spots my parents took me to as a kid. if i could, i'd go down trails every day and buy some binoculars to practice birdwatching. that sounds super fun. going down to lakes also means you have 99% percent chance of seeing ducks and herons. waterfowl are so awesome.

for me the hardest thing i needed to confront is that when i lose someone i can't rely on them anymore, because they're gone and i can't make other people my "new" person because i'll always want that person back. you already know this, though. i can't rely on my friends or any of my family since it just isn't the same closeness. nature is calm and unchanging.

Music. Discovering new music, sharing the music you like with others, creating memories with music. There's so much music in this world.

For instance, this is a life-affirming song that reminds me of someone who used to be a great friend of mine and that I loved a lot, so I listen to cherish and honor the memories. You might also relate, even if your loss is much much greater.

I pictured a rainbow
You held it in your hands
I had flashes
But you saw the plan
I wandered out in the world for years
While you just stayed in your room
I saw the crescent
You saw the whole of the moon

A few days ago, i was in a car and i saw the most picturesque sunset i'd ever seen. the entire sky was orange and pink and the clouds were white on top and a deeper shade of orange at the bottom. It's crazy because you don't usually see that in a city. Anyway, I obviously couldn't take a picture of it and I'm determined to wait until the sky turns the same shade of orange and pink to take a pic.

Last year while in the midst of my exam season, my primary reason to live was to try and document + rate all the food and drinks at starbucks (i studied there every day as a way to get me out of bed). that ended soon after my exams and now im a starbucks hater because of the crazy prices.

i think finding a reason to live doesn't need to be long term. i was never really a sunset / sunrise person and i find those "reasons to live: to watch the sun rise again" kind of cliche. I'll probably go back to being neutral about sunsets after this, but until then, i now have a reason to live, right?

i would say there's many reasons to live. life is inherently beautiful, you can go outside and listen to the birds and the rain and get ice cream and enjoy every second of it. you can get a warm hug from your friend and be called pretty by your lover, you can bake cookies and watch a good show, you can lay in bed and be comfy while you pet a cat listen to a good song or play a game. these small good experiences are worth it.

Communism's eventual grip on this planet will strengthen as old capitalistm withers and grows old and out of style. Even as I type this out to you right now capitalism is slowly succumbing due to the contradictions contained within it.

https://kassioun.org/en/articles/it...ofit-and-prolonged-stagnation-since-the-1960s (dont use the mobile site, only use the desktop site)

This is a very interesting point:
- Capitalist systems aim to compensate workers minimally yet rely on the workers to buy the maximally priced products.

What can be done?
Surprisingly, something can be done. People can plan their purchases, shop around and try to find lower cost (yet similar value) items. People can strive to avoid certain "unneeded" purchases (I for one don't want to buy brand new tech... preferring quality used tech, as of this post I still use a Samsung S8 phone, despite it being several years old, and a 2013 HP PC to type this.)

People can try to donate what they can (in response to the "the world produces more food than it needs, but it isn't distributed equally"), avoid wastage, etc.

People can negotiate for better wages, or potentially seek better paying jobs with slightly nicer people, although this is easier said than done.

Oh wow... I watched that with a friend over discord!
