• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I don't want to wait till 2027 I guess I can but is there like a way to lie about chronic pain or something? Also if anyone here is familiar with assisted dying laws, what should I start doing now to make sure I qualify for when it becomes legal? I already have a hospitalization and a history of medication and therapy. What else would be needed to convince them that this is the only solution

There are only a handful or doctors across Canada that administer/sign off on majority (85%+) of MAID. If you want you can DM me for one of their info, but you're still looking at late 2026 due to the timing periods, eligibility criteria set by the gov, etc. doctors won't take that chance. Your life is worth more than their job, and their job is worth more than risking getting a murder/malpractice/ negligence charge.

I'm in the process of applying right now and although mental health is my main "concern", I'm going through MAID for an "unsolvable back ache" that doctors can't seem to fixing the cause or treatment for :)

Unfortunately, I'll likely be going without medical assistance to ctb. Too much waiting with maid or even Swiss vad

I don't know if the new Carney governement (I also live in Canada) is gonna keep the current MAID timeline... you may want to keep an eye if he does change the current MAID setup

If you think there is an advantage to having the name of maid doc, I'd like their name. I think I have to apply with someone regional.

I doubt it's actually going to happen in 2027. I think about it all the time. At least there are people suing the government to try and force it.

Getting ECT is very good for eligibility, but I can't bring myself to do that unless they can guarantee I'd get MAiD if I wasn't happy with the results (which they can't, of course). The more classes of medication for relevant mental health conditions you've tried, the better. I'm really curious how much they'll actually care about therapy if this happens, considering that it's expensive and not usually covered. Therapy doesn't usually go on your mental health record either (unless you get it from a psychologist maybe?), so they'd have to ask for bank records or something for proof. Very curious. I'm dying (if only) for answers.
