What have been your experiences? I've tended to find it didn't end well putting trust in people. Not even in terms of relationships. Just in terms of friendships and colleagues, I feel like we all let one another down majorly at some point. Family too. And- that works in reverse too. I've been a lousy family member and friend on occassion.

To the extent that, I don't really trust now. I pretty much enjoy the moment without falling into the trap of expecting more. I still do sometimes get tripped up though.

So- that's the other question. If you have been let down, did that make you more reluctant to trust in future?

I give my trust rarely, and every time I did down the line I still got fucked over. So, no sadly.

I see it as a gamble. In real life, I try to see how an interaction can mutually benefit both of us. For example, a desk worker being helpful benefits the customer because it gives the customer what they want while the worker keeps their job. This way of thinking does not always work though because that desk worker could be unfriendly but still keeps the job because they have a close relationship with the owner. I feel sad because I grew up watching children TV shows that explained morality such as Mister Rogers' Neighborhood.

Most people suck most of the time. I have been betrayed and taken advantage of too many times.

No, most people eventually prove they weren't trustworthy, but I still trust everyone. I just distance myself from someone more quickly now if their words and actions don't match.

I learned the very hard way that you should be incredibly careful about who you trust. In the right cases it has helped me, but if I were to take the last 2-3 years back I would be in a much better place if I hadn't trust anyone outside the mental health field. But going forwards the only way to build a better life for myself will be to trust the right people. If I get there. If I don't . . . well it will in no small part be to having trusted the wrong people.

Nope, no, not at all. I decided to trust my first-ever man, and he turned out to be a huge liar who gave me a lot of trauma. Now I know what it's like to feel used. It sucks.

I mostly got abused, backstabbed, and abandoned by people, so no, it's not worth it.

Ive been like that when I was a kid being careful of what I say or do.

Being betrayed or hurt feels absolutely awful eve worse is someone you trusted extremely.

Yes is a super bad feeling but I try emphasis on trying that not all people are scumbags, the majority are but not everyone.

Ik theres scumbags in the world and honeslty I dont blame anyone that actually distances themselves from people cuz the world is dark
