Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

So I was never whipped or beaten over and over but I was hooked up to a lie detector and forced to renounce my identity and reaffirm a new one under the threat of beatings and was deprived of food, water and usage of a toilet until I did. Was this torture? I just want to be accurate when describing my childhood xx.

In everyday speech; yes, you can rightfully call that torture.

With you aiming for accuracy, I got curious about the definition, though.

The technical answer varies by jurisdiction, but often requires the perpetrator to be part of an oppressive organization: a government, institution, or similar. It also tend to involve systematic and repeated infliction of acute pain.

Regardless, it amounts to serious abuse. I hope you'll manage to leave it behind.

It might be torture. It's definitely abuse. I feel like the fine line between the two isn't wroth arguing when either is horrible and no one should have to endure.

The torturer/abuser was a scientologist and used scientology principles against me.
