Opioids *significantly* slow down your gastric motility (ability for stomach to move fluids into the intestines), and also significantly limit your gastric absorption speed—how well your intestines will absorb fluids once they are in there, basically.

On top of that, if you take them during the SN process, and don't have any tolerance to them, then they can add extra nausea to the process (how much extra would depend on individual factors), increasing your chance of vomiting up the SN when you don't want to.

Unfortunately, they simply aren't a good idea and should be recommended against fully when it comes to any SN protocol, in my opinion.

- - -

If you are prescribed prescription opioids as painkillers, or regularly take opioids for any reason, then I'd wholly recommend that you be off of them completely for *at least* 4-5 days before doing the SN protocol.

Things should be done exactly as described in the guides. No more, and no less.

(And IDK if the SN Bible is still being updated or not, pretty sure it's not. But if it is, then something about this should be included in the text. Same with any future guides concerning the topic.)

Here's a link to a seemingly good quality study that looked at both of the things I mentioned in my post.

Gastric Emptying And Absorption (while on opioids):

- - -

And another study concerning the same thing. This is one requires a subscription to read anything more than the abstract, however.

Here it is:

- - -

Hope this info helps someone out there! Any attempt to CTB is serious by it's very nature, and making a potentially life-altering mistake simply because nobody knew about this information, or knew and didn't post it, seems unfathomable to me. So, I decided to post it as soon as I knew.

Good luck in your future endeavors, y'all! 🫡

Metoclopramide is a prokinetic drug so it will counteract some of this especially if you take it for a day or two prior, but yeah, it's still a risk, thank you for sharing.

You know what I'm starting to think, btw?

In the PPH, they mention death can take anywhere from 60 minutes to 4 hours...

Well, guess much opioids slow your gastric absorption rate down by?

...4x!

Could we have solved the reason why some SN deaths are extra long and drawn out, maybe?? Or at least discovered a very large contributing factor? It seems like it, at least.

- - -

While I'd tell anybody out there considering hurting themselves to NOT DO IT, the fact is, people make their own choices independent of any words strangers online may give trying to persuade them otherwise.

People DO hurt themselves. The least that can be done is to make sure anyone considering hurting themselves is at least aware of the most up to date risk factors, and to make sure they're not going around taking any/all guides and protocols as gospels, and that any guides online that MIGHT be being used by people is updated to include the most up to date information and discovered, so as to prevent further potential harm...

I heard that benzos slow down gastric movement too. The question is by how much?

Based on the studies I've looked at just now, benzos don't actually slow down gastric emptying or absorption rates significantly at all.

Metoclopramide reduces (quickens) gastric emptying time by 9% to 23%, according to studies on the matter.

Nowhere near enough to counteract the 3-4x -slowing- that opioids have been found to cause.

- - -

This really is kinda big, though... The more I look at this, the more utterly damning it looks for opioids when combined with SN. Even if a person was just going to take em to reduce SI, and hadn't been taking em for days, it STILL has the negative effects mentioned here, PLUS it has the effect of increasing nausea. Which is not what you want in this scenario.

You misunderstood me, I asked about benzos, not opioids.

Yeah and like I mentioned, benzos don't appear to slow down gastric processes at all, based on the studies I've found at least.

I'm finding now also that apparently some tricyclic antidepressants (e.g., Amitriptyline) also slow down stomach processes. But even things like Amitriptyline don't actually slow things down by an appreciable amount, and definitely nothing as crazily extreme as opioids.

Interesting, I am on opiods twice a day for pain. Do you recommend I skip it the day of? If I don't take it I go into withdrawals which makes me nauseous, headachy and dizzy... but that's after a few consecutive missed doses.

Attempting to harm with SN while taking opioids will by its very nature expose you to more harm and potentially lasting consequences, and as such, I cannot recommend. This is more of a post regarding keeping people safe from unintended harm, rather than giving anybody advice on what they should or shouldn't do with their life, that is between them and their health providers
