Hi, just joined this site, and very new to this, I have no idea if I'm doing this correctly, but I have a rare connective tissue disorder which is end stage, and causes excruciating pain. I have ordered and received N from A from the PPH, I am on heavy opiates (Methadone and Oxycodone), and I am wondering if this will have an effect, is there is a tolerance issue when opiates are combined with the N?

I doubt it because they are in two totally separate classes.

As George notes, no cross tolerance. No need to stop using your opioids. Max your dose and add N when you're ready. They will have a compounded effect, both depressing respiration.

I read when researching for SN that opiates weren't recommended due to increased vomiting chance. Idk if it applies for N.

The Oral MAiD Option in Canada Part 1: Medication Protocols (2018) P.12
"Patients at the end of their lives may be on opioids, which slow gastrointestinal transit, thereby affecting the absorption of the medication."

Guidelines for the Practice of Euthanasia and Physician Assisted Suicide (2012) P.17
"Patients that have been using opioids for a period of time have slower gastrointestinal transit, which lengthens the period of time required before the patient lapses into a coma and dies."

But I do not know how significant the effect is...

Thanks all, I also take 1mg of Lorazepam at night, as this is a benzodiazepine, might this have some sort of adverse effect as well?

Hi Jolene, I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, both Musculoskeletal and vascular type, have had 50 surgeries, my joints are literally crumbling, and I have active aneurysm's in several major arteries, so it's just a matter of time. I'm 59, have lived a great life, and really love my life, it's just that the pain and disability are becoming overwhelming. Unlike a lot of people I'm not depressed at all. It gives me great comfort to have purchased the N. It's ironic that if I lived a state over (Vermont) I would have access to legal euthanasia meds, since I'm on hospice.
