I was reading up on the properties of valerian root. Supposedly its effects are comparable to Xanax and Valium, going so far as to register as a benzodiazepine on drug tests. Benzos aren't readily available to me, but valerian is abundant and cheap in my region. Could one theoretically use valerian root for its sedative effects? I realize it probably wouldn't be as strong as a legitimate bezo, but it feels better than nothing.

It's an interesting idea. Have you tried it? I tried it for a while to help me sleep. I'm not sure it had much affect really. There were still nights I was too anxious to rest. Definitely an interesting idea though. I doubt I'll be able to acquire benzos either. Plus, seeing as I've never used them, I could see them sending me to sleep before I took the SN!

I used to take valerian to help for sleep. I don't think it would be as effective as Valium or benzos though.

I took Valium before and it did not feel the same lol

You know, I have had Xanax in the past. I made an extra strong cup of valerian root tea and it just wasn't comparable in the slightest. I have a feeling SI would still kick in strong, even if one took a strong dose of valerian :/ worth a shot though!

You're not wrong! I'm sad to say I came to the same conclusion 😅
