I don't know how you can read the actual statistics on MAID and come to this conclusion. In any case, I would think that the right to have control over your own body, over your own suffering, is the most fundamental right of all (for all people of course, but maybe especially for people with disabilities?).

That's kind of a sick joke, if they're a human rights committee then they should know that human rights are inalienable. There's no such as thing as "going too far" with human rights, as if someone could "give too much food" to the hungry. It's also laughably pathetic to act as if giving someone the choice to die is wronging them or murdering them. Just another pro life propaganda stream, move along.

Not being a Canadian this doesn't effect me but I wonder if their stand is the state pushing it vs demand for it? I'm only going off the few stories I've heard where someone was pushed towards it vs the state paying for treatment.
