What if God is just cruel or indifferent? And we are trapped here forever, because it has the power and we have not. Any arguments against it that I've read so far are dubious and kind of pathetic. Maybe you can come up with something interesting?

If there was a god I don't really see why this wouldn't be the case. If we're talking wild speculative theories about the possibility of a divine creator then it could be literally anything.
