LIVE: Rail chaos after two people die on tracks with lines shut and emergency measures on major route - updates

Usually when they have stories about rail CTB you can be guaranteed the comments will be full of people whining about the inconvenience to the public which just shows you how shitty people are really.

Reading the comments about the train "incidents", something occured to me - if this would have happened here in the US, the comments would never have been so sympathetic and kind. There would have been a lot of "good riddance", "loser", "fuck them", "who cares", - type comments, and if the story would have been more detailed and included something about who the people were, such as if they were trans, the comments would be even worse diatribe filled with vile and hate. I've seen it before in other US news stories' comments. Living here my entire life, I think the US has more nasty, spiteful, hateful people than anywhere else in the entire world, and I think the root cause of many of the world's problems are directly the result of US policy, which is greatly influenced by the "attitudes" of its people. But, alas, I digress. May the two people who lost their lives rest in peace.

I'm a life long American and sadly, your comments are largely true.

what did the government think would happen when they locked down all methods that dont cause trauma to passerby's and workers, its like they enjoy making train drivers suffer and thats why they ban other methods

Some of the most obnoxious Americans seem to be those with everything.
When I hear about wildfires there now I just find myself wishing it didn't happen but only cos of the animals trees and plant life

They don't give a fuck about the drivers etc and certainly not the CTB victims but they certainly care about the damage to the economy caused by rail delays
