I get so jealous of euthanized dogs.

Posted here because I couldn't bear it anywhere else. This is a letter to the cat I lost two months ago.
"To my beautiful problem princess,
I didn't know how much you mattered to me until I decided to leave. My roommates sat me down and said that if I was going, I couldn't go without you. You were the first pet that was totally mine. You were me. We shared every cold drink (you preferred them with ice, like me), I brushed your teeth every night, we took the same exact anti-depressants. You licked the ash of every bowl and cigarette I smoked off my fingertips. I'm sorry I vouldn't watch you die, seeing you dead was enough to haunt me the rest of my life. I'll never be the same. And I see you in my periphery, I hear you and your bell like the sweetest ghost. It's still hard to do laundry. You gave me so much strength until you had none to give. So I know I'll always have just a little left.
I'll never forget your stubborn, difficult disposition. Or your gorgeous, soft love that puts shame to all others. Before you I was adrift on a deep, dark sea. Always drowning before your love saved me. My life boat is gone now. Lost beneath turbulent water, but you've left me close to shore. So I will find my way home in search of you forever more.
They say you're waiting for me, but I know I'm waiting for you. I miss you more than anything in the entire world.
Sincerely, WR."
