I'm not referring to any specific person, but to "simply being near another". Those who haven't felt the pain of absence don't know how to value presence. Those who have always had physical touch don't know how much it hurts to live without it.
Even the state of atoms changes when there is an observer. When there is no one to observe us, we feel isolated in the world. Intertwined in reality is the overwhelming loneliness that affects a percentage of humanity.
When the world withholds emotional sustenance, we are forced to cannibalize our own flesh to satisfy our hunger.
