Discussion Thoughts on new prescription?

Diagnosis: psychotic disorder / schizophrenia-spectrum disorder. The original Russian wording was "шизоидный психоз," but the exact official diagnosis is unclear.

New prescription:
Morning:

Lithium carbonate 300 mg
Fluoxetine 20 mg

Afternoon:
Lithium carbonate 300 mg

Evening:
Lithium carbonate 300 mg
Olanzapine 10 mg

Total lithium: 900 mg daily.

I don't like any prescription psychiatric drugs.

i've not had the other two but I use to take olanzapine, and it did help my psychotic symptoms but it made me pretty lethargic. Its a powerful antipsychotic though so i hope it helps <3

one of my friends is on a similar regimen, lithium and olanzapine, they weren't prescribed fluoxetine though. my friend tried many psych meds that made them worse, but lithium and olanzapine helped them a lot and they are still taking them, years later. my friend is noticeably happier and small things that used to upset them, no longer bother them. they are more functional in everyday life than they used to be.

the negatives, the meds make them feel sleepy and they have gained weight. they felt it was annoying to take a medication three times a day but they asjusted fine they also had to get blood tests to make sure their dose wasn't too high. overall though, the meds helped them enough that these smaller annoyances are worth it to them.

i think lithium and olanzapine are definitely worth trying. unfortunately i dont know much about fluoxetine

Thanks, olanzipine is the cause of the gain weight, they upped my dose of lithium from 600 to 900mg a day

ah this makes sense. i can ask my friend what his doses are. i believe that he started off on a low dose and the doctors increased it
