While I agree on the importance of protecting the children this wouldn't be such a problem if euthanasia was legalized for adults in need of it

There are over 170,000 posts encouraging suicide and more than 2,000,000 replies
So they basically count all threads ever posted in this subforum as "encouraging suicide" - just because those are published under "Suicide Discussion". Obviously, the goal of these journalists is to just throw shit on the fan and see what happens next.

Contrary to this yellow press, which seems relatively harmless, Ofcom looks like a quite dangerous organization that could eventually become as monstrous as the Russia's RKN, which currently blocks access to YouTube, Discord, Telegram, Viber, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, X (formerly Twitter), FaceTime, LinkedIn, and many other popular platforms on the territory of Russia. Of course, RKN justifies this craziness by "safety". In practice, this country becomes more and more unsafe for living there, since the censorship became an instrument of oppression of those who dare to express disagreement with the politics of the government. "They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety". Hopefully, British people are smarter and they won't spiral into this shit as Russians did.

It's insane, how people can be so ignorant. They don't want to think it's their fault. No, why the hell would it be their fault? They don't try to fix the cause, they try to get rid of the effect. Getting rid of SaSu won't lower suicide rates. It'll just make people angry at you. Ignorant people can't see that it's pro choice, not pro suicide. Fucking hell. Have a good day, fuck knows we could all use one♥️

As if one can't simply scroll the daily headlines to determine how much of a damn Panopticon UK really gives about "killing British children".

"Encouraging suicide" is such a disingenuous way of putting what really goes on here. What a bunch of bullshit.
I agree. Whilst I understand why people want to shut down this site I don't think it's accurate the way they report about it. I've been here and year and interacted with tons of threads. I've only come across 1 user that encouraged. Apart from that I don't see it.

I don't know what they even want from Ofcom? If they geo blocked the site themselves it would still be accessible by vpn. Are they suggesting banning vpns in the uk?

They want ofcom to do something they have as much power as me and you to do (nothing).

They don't know what they're talking about, and will always be pursuing the impossible.

I agree that this website probably shouldnt exist even as i use it. You get socially rewarded and a dopamine hit for being on here every time you post. So your brain goes I'm suicidal --> go on SaSu ---- > reward

Its fucked and not intentional on anyones part. But its not a good thing.

Isn't that just generally truth for social media though? Be it reddit or facebook, whatever. That's not about SaSu that's just how humans are ,nothing you can do about that.

yes exactly, but those other sites don't allow you to talk about suicide. you get socially/dopamine rewarded for talking about your car restoration project or politics or how shitty McDonalds is now, not that you're writing goodbye letters or asking for the best angle to hold a gun to your head

Istg they will do anything but actually take a look at the forum and address the issues that THEY caused. From what I heard the mental health system in UK sucks ass. When's the last time they reported that, if ever.

The only reason people come to this site and feel good about it is because they are able to interact with people who understand how they feel. Your assessment of it is far too simplistic and dishonest and you're no better than the people reporting about it and twisting our words and the purpose of this community. If you don't like Sasu, then leave.
