To demand that someone endure against their will whether it's physical, psychological, or existential suffering without any a source of help in a difficult situation to exit is to rob them of autonomy. It isn't compassion; it's cruelty hidden behind sentimentality and social conformity. A just system would acknowledge the right to opt out, not criminalize or stigmatize it.
how could anyone want to live in a place that intends to harm them and expects them to thank it for the opportunity?
This is the logic of abuse, not care. To harm someone and then call it a gift is the same mechanism used by toxic families, manipulative institutions, and cult-like ideologies. It's the normalization of harm. Gratitude should never be demanded in a world that offers so little safety, peace, or choice.
It shouldn't be this way. A world that routinely harms the people within it and expects them to thank it for the opportunity
is not behaving according to what is morally right and fair.
why should anyone be forced to live with a incurable condition that mentally and physically drains you everyday
To be forced to tolerate enduring pain is not a testament to human strength. It is a sign of a system built on neglect, on coercion, and on harmful intentions disguised as behaviour showing high moral standards.
