Just wanting some peace

To me there is nothing positive about being alive, life is only pain, misery, suffering and even if there was none of that, there would just be emptiness. Life is such an unnecessary, pointless experience which can get so horrifying. All that people do is live miserable existences for decades until they finally die. The fact that it is so difficult to leave this world just makes it even worse, we are expected to suffer for decades and then die from old age. For me, 21 years is enough. I see the world for what it is, such a cruel, unfair place and to me it makes a lot of sense wanting to leave. Non existence is the only way to be free of suffering, when I am dead nothing can hurt me and I am incapable of feeling anything. There is no reason for me to be here and everyday, I think what is the point to all this. Life in itself is so sad and depressing, there is nothing that brings me any comfort. It is wrong to try and force people to live against their wishes, peaceful ways to exit should more easily accessible and our right to die should be respected.

I agree with almost everything. I think help with dying should be conditional. The person should be in charge of their mental faculties, for example. It shouldn't be done impulsively, etc… etc..

I agree completely. I would say there are things that stabilise my mood, rather than bring me joy. I often ponder why I have stuck around so long as the foundation crumbles beneath me, and I think its the hope that I will find happiness even though things only get worse and I am going to end up dead. It is doing more harm than good.

No, not for me. My life is only suffering and there is nothing that would ever make me want to stay here.

I really like how you write. I'm sorry you feel that way and there's nothing that brings you joy. I've definitely been there before, but I have and do still find joy getting to be in the presence of some people, or nature or animals. Unfortunately deriving happiness from people leaves you open to be crushed when someone with significance leaves. Wishing you the best and I hope you can one day find peace.

You have every right to feel this way. Life gives us many reasons to believe this. I agree that it's wrong to force people to live against their wishes.

I think the problem is that society needs us more than we need it. It needs us to be cogs in the machine, working most of our lives, living for basically no reason other than keeping the cycle going. While we don't need to live in a place that treats us like shit with nothing but pain. If anyone could CTB, society would crumble as people realise that it's really just not worth it. The reason I think people end up locked up in institutions for being suicidal is not because they care about them, but because they are scared that others will think about their reasons to suicide and realise too that there really are no benefits. Society goes on because the happy, powerful few don't want to let the rest find out how miserable they are and act on it.

You're always such a sweet person, going out of your way to provide comfort and nice words to people around the forum, even when you're seemingly at your lowest. It makes me sad to see some of the nicest people suffering the most.

A lot of days I wake up and feel the same way you do.

yeah stabilize is a good way to put it. my default state is discomfort but sometimes a distraction will be good enough that for a short while I forget just how fucked I am... then you remember and realize even that happiness was a waste of time considering you're screwed
