The two most important SN resources you MUST read (PPH/Stan's Guide)

Dear All,

I have been surprised and shocked lately by the number of members who are at the point of finalising the details of their sodium nitrite (SN) plans, but who have never read either the Peaceful Pill Handbook (PPH) and/or Stan's Guide to SN. Somehow, these members have browsed the forum and seen individual threads with questions or information about SN, and thus gathered a patchwork of tips and facts, but have not known of the existence of these two vital resources. Here is a brief rundown on them, and why they are so important.

The Peaceful Pill Handbook (PPH)

I would recommend The Peaceful Pill Handbook (PPH) as essential first reading for any new forum member, regardless of their desired method. Written by a doctor specialising in euthanasia, it provides a comprehensive overview of suicide, online privacy and the various suicide methods rated on various key criteria. It is essentially the bible of suicide methods for most intents and purposes. While you may end up disagreeing with parts of it, it at least provides a solid framework and common shared language on which to base your future knowledge. For those wanting to use SN, reading the relevant chapter ('Lethal organic salts' / 'Sodium Nitrite' section) is absolutely vital. It provides a comprehensive overview of the method, and details all of the items and steps required. It is also written in reassuring language to emphasize the relative peacefulness of this method when performed correctly.

Stan's Guide to SN

Stan's Guide
differs from the PPH in that it is an online guide written by an experienced forum member (now deceased). While the PPH describes the ideal, gold standard SN method, Stan's focus is more pragmatic and lists which additional items are more or less essential than others, and how difficult they are to obtain. Whereas the PPH is written like a book, with flowing language and paragraphs, Stan's Guide is more like a comprehensive collection of dot points or text snippets. Accordingly, I would recommend that people first read the PPH for their comprehensive base understanding and then read Stan's Guide for the addition of individual facts or variations. If you only read Stan's Guide but not the PPH, you will likely end up with gaps in your knowledge, or with fragmented facts you cannot necessarily connect into a meaningful narrative.

***

Both of these resources can be found in the Resource Compilation section of the Suicide Discussion forum. Ensure that you have the current edition of the PPH, as information in it can and has changed over time. Due to the absolutely essential nature of these two resources, I would also recommend that other members direct people to read them in their entirety, rather than necessarily just answering individual questions when it appears the questioner has not read these guides already. When it comes to suicide, gaps in knowledge can be very dangerous indeed.

I hope this post proves helpful.

The book is definitely not just about Nembutal, it covers a wide range of methods.

Not sure if your 'No instructions on how to get it? Geez' comment is aimed at me in reference to the PPH, or at the PPH in reference to Nembutal. If it's the former, my original post says:

All of the current PPH versions on this site contain the incorrect and no longer valid email for A, so just gotta be careful directing people there if that's the info they are looking for. However there's info about C, I think.

Oh yes, correct. My experience and this thread were concerned with SN, hence my forgetting to mention this.

Plus there is also the more serious issue of people inserting fake (rather than just out-of-date) contact details into copies in order to scam people buying Nembutal.

I know there is ongoing discussion about this issue, but I'm not sure whether there has been any solution found apart from purchasing the guide directly from Exit International.

I have the pph btw and if someone need it just pm me, i mean if i'm not breaking any rule....

Would you consider uploading it to the forum? See post here.

So I've read a lot on this forum, and decided I'd get a copy of the PPH for more info. Unfortunately, they refunded me and declined me a copy of the book stating they have a age requirement of 50. I'm so disappointed. Did anyone else know about this limitation?
