Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

BBC News talking about "forums encouraging suicide" (not directly mentioning us) right now and some new Online Safety Bill for britian rn. quite concerned. SaSu is getting more infamous day by day. could it be over? what'll happen to SN?
Does anyone watch BBC news?. I have to pay the licence fee so that I can view AlJazeera news and France24. Im not overly concerned about this development. I believe BBC news is so sanitised, im surprised they even mentioned it!
these sites, private groups, chats will ALWAYS exist no matter what . i heard about a forum like this on the news 15 years ago and read these forums existed since the beginning of the internet

Plus this is for Britain and if worse comes to worse people can still use vpn, tor, and such. They've already did this in Germany and Italy and people are still finding this site from there.

Meanwhile, games that "encourage" violence and war are everywhere. You ultimately can't stop ppl from what they want to do, certainly not on the internet…

As far as I can see the safety bill will not shut SS down, it's not in the UK anyway. But the bill is to stop hate, and people using social media to send threats. SS is not used for any of those things, it's a site for people with their own problems to talk about them not spread bad shit to anyone else.
If people don't want to be here it's their choice unlike receiving threats and bad stuff on other SM products regardless.
Of course people's freedom of discussion and speech are being eroded so no one can be sure. Another reason why I hate this life
Nadine Dorries - Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport - another detestable British conservative MP who can rarely string a coherent sentence together when interviewed.
She hasn't got a clue what she's taking about. Just another politician in a role they don't have the skillset for which is always very worrying.
It's scary how someone like this is in a position of power.
I digress though... I don't think this bill has the capacity to affect SS in any way at all.
