Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Suicide has not always been seen as the act of a depressed or mentally ill person. Suicide has not always been prevented. And why prevent suicide - we have the right to decide over our own lives and what happens to our bodies.

Religion; Christianity, changed peoples view of suicide from the act of a responsible person to an infringement upon the rights of God. Stupid people believed what was written in religious scriptures. It was at this point that penalties were etablished for people who tried to commit suicide. People who tried to kill themselves and failed ended up in prison. Modern medicine changed the meaning of suicide again and this understanding prevails in the society of today.

But during the antiquity it was an honor to commit suicide in order not to fall into the hands of the enemy. In ancient Greece, a supply of poison was available for anyone who wanted to die. Suicide was considered an approriate response for people with pain and illness.

It is interesting to hear about the history of suicide and peoples changing views towards it. I do hope in the future eventually euthanasia is legal everywhere and our right to die accepted and understood. At the moment, at least where I live, society pushes the idea that you must live at all costs, no matter how bad it gets. It is cruel.
