Even if i feel like I can change and become a better person it all feels futile bc of the oncoming climate crisis. I felt hopeful for myself until I stepped out into a high 60 degree weather in the middle of November, the city is currently under a drought watch and in my parent's home country it never rains as it used to. I often think about the video of people in the middle east who were dying of heat stroke last summer bc it just became unsurvivable. Nothing's looking good, and with that fat fucking lard of cheetoh dust going into office this year promising to drill like crazy, it only looks like thing's are gonna get worse. god i want elon musk to catch the bus so bad.

Goverments and Political Leaders don't believe in climate change, so why would I worry about it. If they thought it was real they wouldn't be flying all over the world, repeatedly, in private jets to have luxury jollies and talkfests at public expense. Like they don't know what a zoom conference call is ? Our UK Prime Minister wants to tax families out of even one overseas holiday a year, whilst on his latest extravaganza he took in the region of 470 entourage with him. WTAF !
Endless limos with one passenger taking them to the Opera, Football matches, 8 course cordon bleu dinners, yeah, they're all really concerned about this old guy turning on a one bar electric fire in my home with the outside temperature at 0degrees C here where I am in the UK.

I get how you feel, the current polticial climate and the actual climate and both going up in flames and I think the only ones that are going to benefit from this are the super rich, which realistically, basically none of the middle or lower class Americans will ever be. Whats even the point of trying in this kind of world.

One of the biggest reasons I am suicidal is because I hate the world we live in and want no part of it:(

One of my main reasons why I want to dip. When I see what faces us, and the consequences many have to deal with because of climate change, I think: "this problem needs to be fixed". However, the people in power do not take it seriously. Why? Likely because there's the most money behind things that destroy the world. I'd say I have a pretty simple formula. The more it destroys our surroundings, the more money is to be found, and as a lot of people know, money runs the world. If saving the world means cutting down on greed, those running this entire thing won't be interested. No one likes losing things. Even if they have more than enough to sustain themselves, even after they take precautions for the climate, they'll still have lost wealth and money, which hurts.

On top of that, it's incredibly hard to put those out of power, so the evil circle will continue onwards. The thing that pisses me off the most, is that the people who are to blame won't feel shit. They won't be the ones losing loved ones to hurricanes, they'll never worry about their crops during drought, they will never worry about the sea-levels, because they can just buy their solution. What does that leave the rest of us? A shitty world that THEY'VE left behind. Oh wow, what a great fucking gift! What's the next big bullshit they'll come up with? Wouldn't it be funny if they ask something stupid like: "Come on, reproduce so out population doesn't decline," or something like that?

"I think people worry too much about having kids, and it's sometimes difficult to make ends meet and whatnot,"... "But honestly, there's really no time like the present. Just have kids. You won't be sorry. It'll work out." - Elon.

What the hell...

This is exactly why people don't want kids. People don't want their children to share the world with a bunch of these dipshits, and they especially don't want their kids to deal with the mess the powerful leave behind.

And now, after the election, I just lost all hope all together. Nothing will ever change. The same, greedy people will always get elected, and they'll continue to do what they've always done. Even if we escape this earth, and manage to keep the shell of humanity on life support by colonising different planets or whatever, we'll always end up ruining environments, lives and whatever the hell else there is to ruin.

So, I'll just ask for one thing: Jupiter, please just fling a big, dumb astroid at this stupid fucking rock.

i feel the same, however i have looked into and enrolled in a non profit org to serve meals to the homeless in my area. the pain in the world eats at me every second of everyday but if i can alleviate it in some way for at least one person, i could lay in bed easier at night. i suggest more people partake in selfless actions more often, it just might be the start of ur meaning.

Somewhat gullible slaves, I fear. Me being old enough to recall the dread new "Ice Age" warnings we lived through in the 1970s& 1980s. That cost the taxpayer and general public a shedload of our money as well, in "Thinktanks", Conferences, Scientific Advisors & Researchers. Not to mention the wheeling and dealing between the construction and insulating company bosses.
New century, new con.
