It's a really awful feeling when conversations go badly. Sometimes you'll think "If only I hadn't said that one sentence, it would have went well", sometimes you'll think "It went perfectly on my part, I said and did everything I needed, but the outcome was decided before the conversation even began".
Both feeling that you could have succeeded if only you had talked better, and feeling that you would have lost no matter what you said, they are both one of the worst feelings.
