I'll go first: Oviously- a warning for spoilers:

From the 'Inspector Morse' series: 'Masonic Mysteries.' The brilliant Ian McDiarmid (who played Palpatine in Star Wars) is brilliant as the villain.

From the 'Midsomer Murders' series: 'Hidden Depths'. The revenge murders are almost funny- in a gallows humour type of way. Also: 'Small Mercies' where the unfortunate victim is posed like Gulliver in a model village.

From 'Poirot': 'The ABC Murders': Where a man is fitted up with the murders as well as actually believing he may be the culprit- due to black outs.

From 'Jonathan Creek', I'd really struggle to pick a favourite. So many are brilliant. 'Jack in the Box' is so clever/ macabre. 'Black Canary' has Rick Mayall as the charismatic Inspector Pryke. 'The Omega Man' has the brilliant John Shrapnel and a briilliantly creepy looking disappearing alien. There are so many great episodes. There is even one with a gothically themed assisted suicide.

It's been a while since I watched Miss Marple so, no stand out episode comes to mind although, I loved the part Joanna Lumley played.

I love to see the same actors appearing time and time again in the different series.

All of these are UK series. But, I'd love to hear about your favourites...

Oh shit, I was a Law&Order and NCIS junkie back when I had cable. I can not remember any in great detail, but I remember a few:

• There was this early sad episode of
• L&O where an elderly woman died and they thought that her daughter or granddaughter had killed her. It turns out the girl had, but only because English was not her first language, and she misinterpreted her grandmother's prescription needs.
• Another episode had it looking like a cop shot a dude in cold blood, but it was because she was shooting at a mugger and the shot was a through and through, accidentally killing the person behind him.
• Every single L&O: Criminal Intent episode with Bobby in it was amazing.
• There was another Criminal Intent episode where a lady dies and these mysterious old documents start turning up from when she was little that say that she had experienced a miracle or something like that. As it turns out, they were all forgeries by her son, who was an expert forger. The son was played by Stephen Colbert, who is an incredible actor, despite him constantly playing a comedy role.
• God, too many NCIS episodes to count. I remember one where this lady faked her death to get away from her husband, but she did it while doing a live-cam stream. So, part of the team has to literally sit and watch through her porn to look for suspects.

My favorite TV show genre is "dark cop drama", so I love this kind of stuff.
