Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Would a plastic taped over my head work without using other gases?

It can kill you. Babies and children have been known to die by suffocation caused by plastic bags. It's not a good way, though. Since you'll be exhaling CO2 - Carbon Dioxide - into the bag, and then re-breathing it in, the CO2 going into your lungs will trigger your body's hypercapnic response, which is, in essence, a panic response. Unless you are very, very, VERY strong and resolute, that response will force you to rip the bag, or plastic, or anything similar off your head very quickly.

SI is usually way too strong for this method and like stated above, not very pleasant. it'll work, but only if you don't take the plastic off and aren't found by anyone. honestly, i don't think it's possible for a large majority of people simply because their SI would kick in at some point.

That's what happened to me back in the day when I tried it a few times. The longest attempt didn't even last a minute before ripping the bag to shreds...

For this method, the most important thing is that the size of the bag is not too small so that it does not stick to the face, because this can cause severe spasms in the body and great panic. You should also pay attention to the thickness of the plastic of the bag because if the plastic is too thin, it can even cause a similar effect with large bags. You shouldn't use too big either because the suffocation lasts too long until you pass out. Of course, be sure to tie your hands behind your back because even when you pass out, you may instinctively rip open the bag.
I have experienced this method very well, with an adequate bag (and it is best to test it yourself first) suffocation to pass out lasts about 5 minutes, with the first 2 minutes breathing a little harder, after which panic and body cramps begin that pass through the body in fits and starts. Then fainting and blurred vision before your eyes and that is the end of it soon.

Why did it fail

You say you've experienced the method yet you remain alive :) am I reading this correctly?
You didn't get it right. Experiencing the method did not mean going to the end, but rather testing where the limit was and how painless it is to get to the end with that method. It's not about failed attempts, but about testing the method because I decided with it. So, I'm just sharing that experience.
