In my opinion, I preferred the forum before things were changed. Many new members come on here looking for method information and many of them are desperate and they are suffering a lot. I can imagine the fact that people have to wait to gain access can be upsetting.

I was really disappointed to learn that we can't talk about methods; that was the whole reason I joined this site. I don't want to discuss my depression with someone. I want to die. I had a really good post about methods and how one can screw it up and it was taken down.

I didn't because I didn't even know I was breaking a rule. But, I felt like it would have brought up some good discussion. I thought the whole point of this website was to ctb without making mistakes. Funny thing, all the articles I read on this site painted it out to be this site that bullies or encourages people to die and even gives them tips. So far, this has been the most welcoming community I have been a part of. Still, I would have liked to discuss methods.

I agree that it's essential that access to such information should be made available in order to minimize the risks of failed suicide attempts.

I also understand that the administrator(s) are under certain external pressure to not do so or at least not do so too publically.
