• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

    👉 View the ledger here

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

    Donate via cryptocurrency:

Those kind of hotlines seem like some kind of honeypot operation, honestly. Seems like if you show any intent of actually going through with it they just send the cops to your house and have you put in outpatient "care". I hear some people speak highly of them, but they don't seem very trustworthy at all.

I've used them before and they suck ass. They've never called the cops on me but they absolutely didn't care about my issues either. I wish there were better options than suicide hotlines. But for a lot of people suicide lines are the only thing available.

If this is true I wouldn't even be remotely sure surprised. They blatantly will lie about not tracking you in the first place, who's to say they wouldn't do other incredibly scummy shit?

I wouldn't trust most of suicide hotlines. I've tried calling a variety of them, just for it to be an unpleasant experience in most cases, without sufficient help

As per the article:

"The Markup's testing revealed that more than 30 crisis center websites employed the Meta Pixel, formerly called the Facebook Pixel. The pixel, a short snippet of code included on a webpage that enables advertising on Facebook."

The pixel also registered when people hit the call button from a site.

The sites in question responded by saying that they were unaware and that they would remove the code. But I don't know if any of them actually did.

Your skepticism is pretty well founded, unfortunately.

I couldn't find any other article or source on this subject that was published recently. Unfortunately, I'm with you guys on this one. I wouldn't be surprised if it were still happening and harbor distrust towards most Suicide Hotlines.

I'd love it if another source reported on and updated/verified this. It needs to be a way bigger scandal.

It really does. Especially because of how often others encourage the use of these hotlines. It also makes me wonder what kind of data they might be collecting from users who opt to text these hotlines.

It's definitely still happening. People need to come to terms with the fact privacy doesn't exist, since it's seen as directly putting national security at risk. Data is constantly being collected, sold, and shared. And it's often used to gather information on power players, journalists, or anyone else who may be of interest.
