TLDR: There are areas of the brains of suicidal people which show increased energy production. These findings could lead to new and possibly more effective treatments for depression.

Interesting; since they studied the brains of already-dead suicidal people though, I wonder if the anomalies were due to changes that happen as a result of the act of suicide itself.
