"Shark attack kills 'Pirates of the Caribbean' actor and famed surfer Tamayo Perry in Hawaii"

Perry, who was also a lifeguard in Honolulu, was killed on the island of Oahu.
A Hawaii surfer and lifeguard, whose skills and charisma got him cast in Hollywood movies, was killed in an apparent shark attack in Hawaii on Sunday.
Tamayo Perry, 49, who appeared in a "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie and was known for his brave and audacious surfing skills, was killed on the island of Oahu, where he was born, raised and worked for Ocean Safety and Lifeguard Services on and off throughout his surfing life.

A caller told 911 dispatchers that the man's body appeared to have suffered more than one shark bite, the Honolulu Emergency Services Department said in a statement.

Shayne Enright, spokeswoman for the emergency services department, said at a news conference Sunday that rescuers responded to Mālaekahana Beach via jet ski before 1 p.m. and brought Perry to shore, where he was pronounced dead.
"It is with profound sadness that we mourn the loss of one of our incredibly dedicated City and County of Honolulu lifeguards, who tragically lost his life today in an apparent shark attack on the North Shore," Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi said in a statement.
Blangiardi said Perry "exemplified bravery, commitment and a deep sense of duty, serving our community with unwavering dedication."
"His heroic actions and tireless efforts to ensure the safety of our residents and visitors will never be forgotten," he added.
Acting Ocean Safety chief Kurt Lage also said at the news conference that Perry was known as a professional surfer with an "infectious personality" to fans of the sport around the world.
Perry was best known in the surfing world for navigating the potent waves of Pipeline, the iconic North Shore spot known for producing the churning, left-breaking barrel made famous by its appearance in the opening sequence of the original "Hawaii: Five-O" series.

A Deadly Brew
1000001765
In the Brazilian hospital of Santa Casa de Barra Mansa, an 88-year-old woman, Ilda Vitor Maciel, died of a pulmonary embolism. What caused the pulmonary embolism? Soup.

In September of 2012, Maciel was admitted to the hospital after a stroke. On the 28th, a nursing technician made a fatal mistake: instead of injecting soup into the woman's feeding tube, they injected it into her vein. 12 hours later, Maciel was dead.

While the hospital acknowledges the unfortunate soup incident took place, they deny that it was the cause of her death. However, considering a pulmonary embolism is a blocked artery in the lungs, soup in the blood seems like a pretty good suspect…

Alexander Nikolayevich Scriabin, 1915

Alexander Nikolayevich Scriabin's portrait.

Alexander Scriabin was a pianist and composer with a rather eccentric streak.
The composer wrote "I am God" in a journal, experimented with tone and harmony in his compositions, and designed a special organ that created projections of colored light instead of music when played. His final work was to be the Mysterium, a grandiose piece which would last seven days and be played at the foothills of the Himalayas in India. Scriabin believed that bells hung from clouds would gather people to this location and that the Mysterium would usher in an armageddon, transforming the earth into a world of total bliss. Alas, the earth kept spinning as usual because of an ordinary razor blade. Scriabin died at age 43 after nicking himself while shaving and becoming infected with sepsis or blood poisoning. 🙄😏😆

"MAN KILLED BY SWARM OF BEES"

EASTLAND, Texas (KTXS) - A routine day turned tragic when a Texas man was attacked by a swarm of bees while mowing the lawn.

Stephen Daniel was mowing the lawn April 27 near an abandoned structure beside Friendship Park when he disturbed a large beehive, according to an Eastland Police report.

The bees swarmed, following Daniel into his vehicle.

As Daniel attempted to escape, he ended up in Chrishae Cooper's family's front yard. She saw him struggling to fight off the bees and called 911. Shortly after, police raced to the scene to attempt to help Daniel.

Despite his efforts to flee, Daniel was attacked by a large number of bees. He later died at the hospital from circulatory collapse due to the stings.

"MAN KILLED WITH HIS OWN GUN"
(February 13, 2025)

A man was shot and killed after suspects stole his firearm at a gas station. Colion Noir used the incident to highlight the dangers of open carry and careless firearm handling.
Security footage showed three suspects targeting the victim before grabbing his pistol. The man pleaded for his gun back, but the suspects ignored him. Instead, they shot him—likely with his own firearm.
Noir warned gun owners that open carry comes with risks, especially in urban areas where criminals look to steal weapons. He emphasized that gas stations are hotspots for crime, where predators wait for moments of opportunity.

"This is why I stopped carrying at 3 o'clock," Noir explained, referring to the traditional hip-carry position. He pointed out that a lifted shirt can expose a firearm, making it an easy target. Instead, he prefers appendix carry, which allows better control and concealment.
Noir stressed that criminals do not fear guns—they seek them. "These kids aren't walking into a store to buy a gun legally. They're looking to steal them," he said. He urged concealed carriers to remain aware of their surroundings and ensure their firearms stay hidden.

He also issued a stark warning: If someone steals your gun, do not chase after them. "They're not going to give it back," he said.
The victim in this case tragically learned that lesson the hardest way possible.

Actor Vic Morrow & child decapitated during filming when helicopter falls on them.

In 1982, Morrow was cast in a feature role in Twilight Zone: The Movie in a segment directed by John Landis. Morrow was playing the role of Bill Connor, a racist who is taken back in time and placed in various situations where he would be a persecuted victim: as a Jewish man in Vichy France, a black man about to be lynched by the Ku Klux Klan and a Vietnamese man about to be killed by U.S. soldiers.

In the early morning hours of July 23, 1982, Morrow and two child actors, seven-year-old Myca Dinh Le and six-year-old Renee Shin-Yi Chen, were filming on location in California in an area that was known as Indian Dunes near Santa Clarita. They were performing a scene for the Vietnam sequence, in which their characters attempt to escape out of a deserted Vietnamese village from a pursuing U.S. Army helicopter.
The helicopter was hovering about 24 feet (7.3 m) above them when a fireball from special effect pyrotechnic explosions reportedly caused damage to the helicopter rotor and caused the tail rotors to separate from the aircraft causing the helicopter to plummet and crash on top of them, killing all three instantly. Morrow and Le were decapitated and mutilated by the helicopter rotor blades, while Chen was crushed by a helicopter skid.

Morrow's daughters sued several parties for negligence and wrongful death and were each awarded an out-of-court settlement of $850,000 by Warner Bros. Studios. Landis and four other defendants, including the helicopter pilot Dorcey Wingo, were charged with involuntary manslaughter but were ultimately acquitted after a ten-month trial. The parents of Le and Chen also sued and settled out of court for $2 million each.

Morrow's remains are interred in Hillside Memorial. 🤨🤫

"LUCID DECAPITATION"
(I know this really isnt about a weird death per se,
but Ill let you decide for yourselves...)

For thousands of years, the forceful removal of the human head has been used as a form of capital punishment. In fact, the word "capital" in the context of punishment was coined to describe execution by decapitation, derived from the Latin word caput, which means "head." Since the very beginnings of the practice, there has been much speculation and debate regarding the length of time that the head can remain conscious after its removal. Many argue that a beheaded person will almost instantly lose consciousness due to a massive drop in blood pressure in the brain, and/or the heavy impact of the decapitation device. But there are countless eyewitness reports in history describing a few moments of apparent awareness in the victim.
Beheading has been discontinued as a form of execution in much of the world due to the suspicion that a severed head remains conscious and able to experience pain, so there have been no recent scientific observations of human decapitation. However studies of decapitated animals has lent some credibility to the massive number of stories regarding a head's brief consciousness after being separated from the body. Under certain circumstances, it is very possible that a head so removed may remain lucid long enough to know its fate.

In many cases, the anecdotal evidence describes blinking eyes, wandering gaze, and moving lips on a freshly amputated head. As grotesque and troubling as these movements may be to the witnesses, such muscular spasms are not surprising under the circumstances. It is not uncommon for any separated limb to twitch briefly due to reflex nerve action. More difficult to attribute to nerve reflexes are the stories of specific facial expressions sometimes seen on the faces of the beheaded as they died. Some were said to change expressions several times in the last few moments, ranging from pain and confusion to grief and fear.

In the heyday of the guillotine during the French Revolution, it is said that many of the condemned were asked to blink for as long as possible after decapitation. While many reportedly did not blink at all, some complied for as long as thirty seconds. Still other observations describe much more specific reactions to stimuli following beheading. Consider the case of Languille, a convicted murderer who was guillotined in France. He was observed by Dr. Beaurieux during his execution at 5:30am on June 28th, 1905. As written in Archives d'Anthropologie Criminelle, here are the doctor's observations:
"Here, then, is what I was able to note immediately after the decapitation: the eyelids and lips of the guillotined man worked in irregularly rhythmic contractions for about five or six seconds […] I waited for several seconds. The spasmodic movements ceased. The face relaxed, the lids half closed on the eyeballs, leaving only the white of the conjunctiva visible, exactly as in the dying whom we have occasion to see every day in the exercise of our profession, or as in those just dead.It was then that I called in a strong, sharp voice: 'Languille!' I saw the eyelids slowly lift up, without any spasmodic contractions […] Next Languille's eyes very definitely fixed themselves on mine and the pupils focused themselves […] After several seconds, the eyelids closed again, slowly and evenly, and the head took on the same appearance as it had had before I called out. It was at that point that I called out again and, once more, without any spasm, slowly, the eyelids lifted and undeniably living eyes fixed themselves on mine with perhaps even more penetration than the first time. Then there was a further closing of the eyelids, but now less complete. I attempted the effect of a third call; there was no further movement and the eyes took on the glazed look which they have in the dead.
I have just recounted to you with rigorous exactness what I was able to observe. The whole thing had lasted twenty-five to thirty seconds."

MEL IGNATOW
Mel Ignatow was tried and convicted for the murder of Brenda Sue Schafer in 1988 based on evidential photos that showed the woman being brutalized by an unidentified male. The moles on Ignatow's body provided a match to the man in the picture and became concrete evidence that he killed this woman.
He brutally beat her to death while he bound her to a GLASS coffee table, bludgeoning her body until it was lifeless on that glass coffee table. However, Ignatow got away with only ten years because of perjury and double jeopardy, whereas he would have served a life sentence otherwise.
Several years later, in a freak accident, he tripped and fell in his apartment... onto a glass coffee table. The coffee table's glass cut and maimed him so bad, that he lost too much blood for authorities to do anything about his situation. As he succumbed to the fatal cuts on his head and arms, his final thoughts must have been dominated by the fact that what killed him also killed his victim. The irony is, most likely, what killed him. 😞😲😂

Deaths like these make me sad. Imagine being one of their loved ones and having to relive their death over and over again every time they see an article that talks about it or someone reference it online.
It's even worse when they died while having fun, I saw the story of a 3 year old who got scared while on a roller coaster and he jumped off and got ran over on the tracks while his brother and parents watched in horror. Imagine seeing a commercial about a roller coaster or having one brought up in conversation, life is so cruel.
Crazy how some lucky people just fall into a good easy death and others have to fight like hell for a painfull one
It's easier to do things when you're not overthinking it, they died in a relax state (not expecting it) so their body wasn't in flight or fight mode making it easier.

Assassin assassinated! 🤔

The body of the 20-year-old who tried to assassinate former President Donald Trump was "gone" when Rep. Clay Higgins tried to inspect it as part of an investigation into the shooting, the congressman revealed in a preliminary investigation.

Thomas Matthew Crooks was shot dead by the Secret Service after he opened fire from a rooftop while Trump was speaking at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13.

The former president sustained an ear injury, while a bystander was killed and two other people injured.

Higgins, a Louisiana Republican who is on the House task force investigating the shooting, detailed some of his findings after a three-day trip to Butler earlier in August.

Thomas Matthew Crooks

Donald Trump shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks' yearbook photo from Bethel Park High School. Crooks body was "gone" when Clay Higgins tried to examine it, according to a new report. Bethel Park School District
In the report, Higgins wrote that he had attempted to examine Crooks' body, but was unable to do so, and alleged the FBI was obstructing further investigative efforts.

"My effort to examine Crooks' body on Monday, August 5, caused quite a stir and revealed a disturbing fact … the FBI released the body for cremation 10 days after J13," Higgins wrote in the report. "On J23, Crooks was gone. Nobody knew this until Monday, August 5, including the County Coroner, law enforcement, Sheriff, etc."

Higgins said the Butler County Coroner "technically had legal authority over the body, but I spoke with the Coroner, and he would have never released Crooks' body to the family for cremation or burial without specific permission from the FBI."

He also wrote that "similar to releasing the crime scene and scrubbing crime scene biological evidence … this action by the FBI can only be described by any reasonable man as an obstruction to any following investigative effort."

Newsweek has contacted the Butler County Coroner and the FBI for comment via email. Higgins' office has been contacted for comment via email.

Higgins' report also noted that both the coroner's report and the autopsy report are "late."

"The problem with me not being able to examine the actual body is that I won't know 100 percent if the coroner's report and the autopsy report are accurate. We will actually never know," he wrote. "Yes, we'll get the reports and pictures, etc, but I will not ever be able to say with certainty that those reports and pictures are accurate according to my own examination of the body."

STEVE IRWIN "The Crock Hunter"
(Sept 4 2006)

While swimming in chest-deep water, 44-year-old Steve Irwin approached a stingray, with an approximate span of two metres (6 ft 7 in), from the rear, in order to film it swimming away. While the stingray has been described by most sources as a short-tail stingray, others have suggested that it may have been an Australian bull ray.
The stingray, possibly mistaking Irwin's shadow for a tiger shark, suddenly "propped on its front" and stabbed Irwin several times with its tail. Irwin initially believed he had only a punctured lung; however, the stingray's barb pierced his heart, causing him to bleed to death.
Crew members aboard Irwin's boat administered CPR and rushed him to the nearby Low Island, where medical staff pronounced him dead.

Irwin's widow, Terri, stated in an interview with Access Hollywood aired on 11 January 2014 that the documentary contains no footage that was shot the day he died, and that the footage of his injury and death had been destroyed. Justin Lyons, a cameraman for the documentary, has said that although footage of the incident does exist, he is against its release.
Philippe Cousteau Jr. filmed the remainder of the documentary weeks after Irwin's death.
