Still viable?

My question is , is the golden gate still viable?
I am planning to travel there very soon, but as you may imagine, I don't want my trip to be in vain. I been checking the news and even videos to determine the relative progress of the barriers but so far I can't find anything conclusive. Does anyone know the current state of affairs at the site (the railings along pedestrian walkway in particular)?

I watched a documentary on it recently. Though outdated, it mentioned the bureaucratic mess that was preventing the safety net as well as people simply not wanting a safety net because they thought it'd look ugly. See for yourself, you're going there anyways.

Good point but my fear is what if I travel all the way there and the place is all blocked off?

You said you were going there anyways, if you're not sure it migh not be worth it.
