I'm leaving out many key details here for the purposes of privacy, but a dear friend of mine gave me permission to share their story. They don't use this site, know what it is and don't condemn it, they're just not interested in having an account. They're open to sharing their experience with me and thought it'd be beneficial for anybody curious to hear about what they experienced.
Many years ago, my friend, "C", came into hard times and attempted to CTB. They wouldn't share their exact method, but were found 3 days later in their apartment by another friend, on the verge of passing.
They were taken into hospital, where they were put into a medically induced coma and spent a number of months in the ICU, until they could be safely awoken and admitted into a ward.
"C" stated that they remember very little about the coma itself, that they had periods of intense dreams, of which were about various scenarios including time travel and joining a travelling circus, followed by blackness and nothingness which felt like "being held by an unknown force, not in a scary way, but in a serene, peaceful way".
They "died" about 5 or 6 times during this period, and were revived by medical staff.
"C" said they remember the 3rd day of being woken, but not much before that. They had to be sedated upon waking up, as they became aggressive towards hospital staff, but have no recollection of it.
Today, they are doing better. They have 30% of their lung capacity missing from where they inhaled their own vomit, short term memory loss and mild bursts of aphasia (the term for not being able to speak, process or comprehend language due to mild brain damage) which are getting better with therapy, but other than that, no long term physical disabilities.
I hope anybody this was interesting to read for anybody who took the time.
