Some hope from Wikipedia?

I don't want to post a link here, but I found a Wikipedia page that lists prominent suicides due to bullying. A lot of these were teenagers who went through hell with their bullying situations, and it's truly tragic. However, in reading their stories, I was struck by how seemingly simple and accessible their methods were, such as hanging with a belt or a bathrobe sash. My heart truly breaks for these kids who shouldn't have been pushed to the breaking point, but it also almost gives me a sense of hope—like if this 13 year old can do it successfully with very few resources, so can I. Of course, I don't have that teenage lack of inhibition and impulsivity that would be so helpful for overcoming SI.

Yeah death can be easy. I like the peace of mind of research done. It's something I enjoy. I'm happy it can accessible though.

I wish it was more accessible. Specifically, information. People in media never kill themselves with a gun properly (aiming for between the eyes or the temple when putting the gun in their mouth and shooting would be more effective). Or characters cutting themselves by cutting themselves and bleeding to death (???). I'm happy I was told about these forums. Suicide is something we can't talk about--even consider--so trying to find resources can be an abysmal experience if you don't know where to look.

Don't want to be too negative on a positive post. It's great people are able to find peace.

I used to think that hanging was straightforward before I properly researched it, as I heard about so many people dying from that method. I think that I will never not be scared of hanging, I read about failed attempts and that is what keeps me from attempting and in general it does sound like a horrible way to die. It does make hanging sound easy when you hear about deaths and I envy the courage that people had for it. I wish that I died when I was much younger, it would have prevented so much suffering.

Maybe these really young people didn't overthink it and just went for it when they got desperate, but rest in peace all those who have left.

Children get CTB easier than adults. Perhaps, they have more courage, they don't think about it too much, they bear the desperation of the method more, or something else.

I think it is a subject worthy of suicidal sociological studies.

The prospect of failure is terrifying. I'm hoping to have some practice runs at some point.
