Has anyone figured out how to prevent pain in stomach after SN? I've seen a lot of posts talking about horrible stomach pain after they take SN and I want to make this pain as gone as possible. Will hydrocodone help? Or something else?

I was hoping Ibuprofen will prevent both the headache and the stomach pain.

Ibupforen alone can cause stomach pain, especially considering that you have an empty stomach on SN protocol. NSAID (ibuprofen, aspirin, diclofenac etc.) type of meds usually irritate the stomach when taken on empty stomach. It obviously depends on your body, if you have pre-existing stomach problems like reflux it is more likely to cause stomach pain. For example I know for certain that my body tolerates paracetamol better, so I would go for that if I were to take SN. Paracetamol is relatively weak as a painkiller, but it works good enough for me for headache.

I would definitely avoid ibuprofen on an empty stomach, unless you did a trial first, although even the trial itself might cause issues. Ibuprofen is a common cause of stomach ulcers & damage to lining etc. Best of luck.

You are drinking literal poison so some sort of pain or discomfort is to be expected but I have yet to see anyone mention horrible stomach pain. The painkiller and benzo is there to ease whatever discomfort and pain (both physical and emotional) awaits. I personally never experienced issues with ibuprofen on an empty stomach but everyone's experience can be different.

Thanks for this, I'm now changing my proctocol. I chose Ibuprofen because I thought it will stronger than Paracetamol

Yeah, there's a reason why they say don't take ibuprofen usually when you have stomach problems. I learned this the hard way, and when Tylenol could help but it was better that I didn't use any; however, paracetamol has a lower impact affect and targets headaches usually and naproxen has the same affect and the pain your dealing with. Both aren't as strong as ibuprofen so it should protect your gut lining without much problems.

Ibuprofen is safe for lots of people & good luck to them, I'm jealous.
I'm not overly worried about the stomach pain, even if it's acute, it won't be for long. But I'll try to avoid actively making it worse, which for me means avoiding ibuprofen on an empty stomach. Ibuprofen is better for blood pressure headaches though- they're weird headaches. If you can have an ice pack for your forehead or temples, or just a bowl of ice - then it can be put on your head, but could also submerge face in if tachycardia is a concern. You gotta weigh up which bits are most important to you & factor in what you know about your own body & it's reactions plus accepting that it can't all be pleasant & to pick your battles. Best of luck.

I've decided to test the Ibuprofen and see whether I have any issues with it - hopefully not. I've managed to secure some Valium, but only 50mg worth of it, do you think this will be okay? It's definitely less than what is in the pph, but I've never used benzos before. Do you know whether Valium works more to reduce SI, or more for the sedative effects?

I have to run sorry, literally falling asleep. Be careful testing the ibuprofen as that could cause issues if you already suffer stomach pain Maybe google ibuprofen on an empty stomach, how ibuprofen causes stomach ulcers etc, to see if anything relates to your own knowledge of your own body. I can't take it, millions of people can.
As for the valium, if you have no tolerance, an empty stomach & crush it, it'll hit you quick & hard. I don't know any more than that sorry. Best of luck.

Just a note, the PPH used to recommend antacids for SN but as of April 2022, they say that antacids do not seem to make any difference. They do not seem to hurt anything either so take them if you think that will make you feel more comfortable.

Thank you, you are such a helpful person. I've never taken valium before, I hope it knocks me out quickly
