Hello everyone I have sn and am planning to ctb soon, but there was i time I tested my sn with 50 ml water and I discovered it was initially cold like ice before dissolving is it normal?

i think it's normal for SN to cause a cooling sensation when it dissolves in water. but it shouldn't be too much because we are not dissolving a huge amount. SN even in ice cold water should dissolve. SN solubility is 71 grams per 100 mL of water in ice cold water. but better do it in water already room temp.

Dissolution of NaNO2 in water is endothermic, so decreasing of the mixture's temperature upon dissolving is to be expected.
