According to the Peaceful Pill Handbook (PPH) (very useful) it seems to be relatively peaceful, though it may not be as peaceful as people expect.
I think SN is one of the more popular choices on here so I wanted to write this.
There is better alternatives, like barbiturates, but they are hard to obtain its what vets use to put animals down and countries with pro euthanasia laws prefer.
How does SN work?
Hemoglobin within our Red Blood Cells binds to oxygen so blood can deliver oxygen to tissues.
SN converts hemoglobin to methemoglobin, oxygen is unable to bind to this.
This then causes death from lack of oxygen within the tissues.
Thus the cause of death is functional hypoxia.
Note: There is an antidote, methylene blue, and it can save you mid attempt.

It is worth noting that some reports suggest there is a painful burning sensation upon consumption of SN and you are likely to vomit, this has led to the advice that one should make two servings in preparation in case the first is vomited. Even the PPH doesn't give SN a super high peacefulness rating in spite of the reported timeline, contrasted to Nembutal (barbituate) and Morphine (opioid).

As such if you have access it is probably a better idea to give these medications a shot, SN is not the ideal choice for a perfectly smooth exit (though I'm sure that can happen if the proper precautions are taken with other medications) but it is an effective exit nevertheless.

I imagine heart rate increase can be pretty uncomfortable and startling when you are about to die, it is natural it would increase given the fact that your oxygen levels are slowly going to decrease. The same book advises taking beta blockers and/or benzodiazepine (at a high dose) medication as well as anti nausea medication.
The anti-emetic/nausea: Self explanatory
The beta blockers: Will reduce side effects from the body load such as heart rate
The benzodiazepines: Will reduce side effects like the body load but also perhaps ease anxiety if taken before, if you wanted to mega dose though this is un-advisable because a mega dose will likely cause unconsciousness. A high dose should help in falling unconscious though too so you might want to add a mega dose on top of your SN (dosed at the same time).
Personally I would take a therapeutic dose maybe an hour or two before like people are given before surgery to ease anxiety and provide a more comfortable experience, you should prepare your stuff beforehand though because you don't want to be intoxicated during prep and fuck it up.
Actual Preparation and Procedure

Ideally you would prepare two solutions in case of vomiting, use an anti-sickness medication (metoclopramide), a beta blocker (propranolol) and a benzo (like oxazepam). You can substitute these medications for similar ones but I would be careful of substituting the anti -sickness because the mechanism might be considered important, if you do intend to substitute you better read the full handbook and make sure your dosages are equivalent.
Additionally it might be ideal to test your SN somehow if you have the means to do that to make sure that you are indeed consuming SN and the correct purity.
SN MUST BE AT LEAST 95%+ PURITY, do not consume SN at a low percentage like that with meat curing salt.
DO NOT TEST INGEST, read here.
Beware of survival instinct, you might call for help at which point you can be saved. If you are saved in time you may suffer irreversible organ/brain damage, be aware of this risk since the mechanism is naturally oxygen depriving in nature the longer it takes the more likely you are to suffer permanent, serious damage.
I would make sure you are somewhere isolated though either your own home with no chance of visitors or a hotel far away from everyone or anyone who might disturb you. This way you have no chance of being saved, being saved might result in lasting brain damage.
Finally, I'd advise not buying SN until 100% sure and if you do keep it some place hard to access because one should never make impulsive decisions when dealing with something like this.

I'm essentially just a nerd who likes to make my skill set slightly useful. I have thought about and attempted suicide a few times in my life, I've been suicidal since I was 15 but never was able to fully take the plunge. I understand what it's like to be desperate. I would still like to say though that there were a few times where if I had died I would've regretted missing the future that came to be, so please do take the time to reconsider and take a long time before making a final decision.

I do not believe information to be immoral in of itself, especially when it is within a place where the user is clearly able to find stuff like this scattered around I figured I'd just compile it to make it easier and safer for those here to make an education decision.
Actually by making this post I would actually hope that people would choose against using SN, and of course ideally not commit suicide at all but if one does make that decision I would just like people to be able to make a safe and educated decision.
