SN and alcohol

hopefully a simple query ..... is the any contra indication to having a couple of small alcoholic drinks prior to taking SN.

i don't mean getting completely drunk . i mean a shot of whisky 30-60 mins before . just to calm nerves

Probably. The body already sees alcohol as a toxin, adding another toxin could very likely cause you to vomit. A lot of people have vomited even after taking AE's and not included alcohol into the mix. It's something you COULD do, but it's probably best to err on the side of caution.

So, the only problem here would be the throw up thing? Beyond that, alcohol probably wouldn't interfere with the SN effects, right? or no?

Sorry, I'm at work currently so I'm slow to reply. That I'm not sure of, it could possibly potentiate the effects since it does that with some substances, but that's just a wild guess. I would not risk vomiting but if you're still interested then I would do more research on the subject. Hopefully someone can come along with an actual answer soon. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Can't answer your question, but I'll definitely drink before SN, I don't think if I can get any meds so probably just SN and alcohol.

Alcohol should not interfere with the mechanism of SN action. Increase vomiting is the risk. Drink whatever you tolerate best GI wise to minimize vomiting. Liquor makes me vomit alone so I would do Prosecco or something easier on the stomach.

If we are discussing it, I haven't drank in years, and would have loved to do so with SN. I had a good alcohol capacity. But I'm pretty sure it irritates the stomach (even when I drunk and felt good), slows metabolism and emptying (have you read the guide/fasting?), and could easily make me feel worse... Less peaceful.

However it is personal, I think perhaps a member or two indulged themselves with a very small drink, not sure. It's not common/recommended.
