Is it possible to slowly poison oneself with SN? I'm just wondering if there's any way to get sick from SN without it necessarily looking like CTB. Incidentally, I also have a condition that will likely prevent me from taking too much SN at once (achalasia, which results in difficult/slow swallowing from esophageal dysfunction).

The answer is "probably not". The point of injesting any poison is to do it quickly and get it all down in roughly a minute or so. There have been cases where members have sipped it through a straw for hours and they fell asleep and woke up several hours later with a hangover feeling. Aytime you deviate from the recommended regim, there are no guarantees regarding the result. There are also many variables with SN, your weight, if you ate earlier, if you took any AE beforehand so the answer is not a definative yes or no. There is a Megathread on SN that you should read which, you will find helpful with your questions.

I wouldn't have thought so reading how it works, the body would not be overwhelmed and would just filter out the nasty stuff as usual (simplified a bit).

Hi, I have (theoretically) explored the possibility of CTB by using SN in a slower process, utilising historically reported cases. You may check out this thread:

Unfortunately, there was no definite answer. Accidental SN poisoning deaths have indeed happened before, but it's difficult to predict whether it will work as a CTB method.

I will try and answer from personal experience.. I've tested this strategy slightly indirectly. Wanted to increase dose slowly to see at what point it would most likely be lethal and what the experience would be like. So over the course of about 2 or 3 weeks I was taking sn in small doses each night. Worked my way up to about 1.5g. I can say that the only real effect I experienced after waking up was generally just a headache. And that never influenced the efficacy of the next dose. However at the point of 1.5g the effect was very strong so I concluded that when the time to ctb comes around 5g will do it for me. The experience in all honesty is kind of "pleasant" if you ignore the nausea... did wake up once the next morning to pretty heavily throw up, looked in the mirror and looked like a ghost with blue lips and fingers. However went back to sleep and a few hours later woke up looking completely normal again. So in conclusion i don't think gradual ingestion will have any lethal effects
