Starting a fire and then taking something that'll make me lose conciousness rapidly. What could go wrong?

I ll repost my comment from a previous post. Don't do this. I doubt there is anything strong enough to prevent you from feeling the pain.
I am pro choice but can only urge you not to try this. I have experienced 2nd degree burning and i have never experienced such pain in my life. When I arrived at the hospital they immediately injected morphine and put me into a coma. I had surgery to remove the necrotic tissue and was lucky I did not need skin transplants.
It would take minutes until you die and the pain and agony will be unfathomable. If you survive this it will be excruciatingly painful and if you don't pass away in the hospital life will be very worse. I don't mean any disrespect and it's your choice.

Aaron Bushnell was a hero but seriously would only look at this method as a political act like with him and others recently, the Vietnam monks historically, etc.

If you're gonna take something for the pain it better be a strong opiate. So why not shortcut that by just OD'ing on opiates instead of lighting yourself on fire bro?

what would you take?
a general anesthetic, I'm thinking. I don't currently have access to anything stronger than benzos, which are mostly just used as an adjuvant. just posted this in the hopes of getting an answer as to whether I should look into getting something stronger, or if I'm completely wasting my time thinking about this method.

I know "it'd be your final moments and wouldn't matter once it's over". In no reality can I imagine the agony that self-immolation causes would be worth it. Unless you're trying to make a huge public statement, I'd say go another route.

In the end, do whatever you feel suits YOU and don't let my words be a deterrent. Those are just my two cents on it.

If you can make sure 100% youll be knocked out it might be okay.. but honestly if you were able to get an anesthetic i would just use that to die. Much more peaceful. IMO self immolation would be extremely painful and there are better ways to go.

I prefer jumping from a building or get run over a train than immolation

Self immolation can take minutes, upwards of about 10. You may also face difficulties with doing it without catching people's attention and helping you, or you yourself putting it out as much as you can.

Do whatever you feel you need to, but self immolation is not a good way to go. Unless you can 100% for sure knock yourself out or completely numb yourself, you'll be in pure hell until you die, which like last reply, can take up to 10 mins.

And where would you do it? Forest, home, train station, parking lot, etc., are all fire hazards.

I remember seeing a chart listing various ctb methods by agony and fire was the one with the highest amount.

Unless you have the pain tolerance of a Xiaolin monk, you shouldn't do this

I think this method is best reserved for political or religious protest statements. And I agree with the above, needing "the pain tolerance of a Xiaolin monk." If you want your final moments, or even days, to be the most painful moments of your life then this is the best method.
